Characters: Quinn & Mackenzie
Setting: The campus coffee shop, Thursday
Rating: SFW so far. Maybe language
Content: Parental weekend is approaching. Naturally someone has to piss off their parents.

Nothing was really going the way Quinn wanted it to. Sure, things could be worse. They could be a lot worse, but it wasn't going well. The school year had taken a slow decline since the night she got angry at Emilie. Then Jenny put and end to her fun. Adelaide had killed herself, probably due to something the homophobic Shaw did or said. Now her parents were going to come check up on Alex and herself.

Quinn's lips curled into a silent snarl at the thought of what hell that was going to be. If she was lucky they would spend more time harassing her little brother. Ten to one she would get the first visit with lots of negative comments and remarks before they moved on to spend the rest of their time with Alex. Still, she sat there contemplating the weekend and possible repercussions of certain actions as she sat back in her chair with her legs stretched out into the walking space in front of her table, swirling the contents of the almost empty coffee cup while she stared off into space.

God, she needed a distraction.

Mackenzie had been wandering the campus all afternoon lost in thought, she only had a two more days until parent weekend and she still hadn’t figured out how to piss off her mother. She had already invited Hunter to come hang out with her, her mother and Craig over the weekend, feeling bad that the girl didn’t have family coming. That would only end up pissing her off in the end however, as her mother and Hunter would end up teaming up against her.

She sighed and headed for the direction of the campus coffee shop, she supposed it wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world to have a civil weekend between her and her mother. Maybe she could let bygones be bygones and just keep her head down the whole weekend. It would certainly make her life a little easier that was for sure. She entered the coffee shop, and glanced around to see who was hanging out. She saw a familiar brunette sitting lost in thought, her legs stretched into the walk way. Smirking, she made her way quietly over to the girl, a wonderful idea forming in her head as she did. Sneaking up behind Quinn, she leaned over so she was hovering over the brunette’s left shoulder.

“You know,” Mackenzie said huskily into the brunette’s ear. “You could trip a person with your legs out like that. Not that I mind the view at all though, you have really nice legs.”

Being that Quinn was usually a very watchful person when she was sitting in public areas doing nothing in particular, it was something to be said that Mackenzie could come up behind her without being noticed. The brunette's mind was far too distracted.

Mack's voice brought Quinn out of her thoughts with a jerk of surprise and her head turned enough that she could see who it was, although the voice did sound familiar. The choice words she had in mind to throw at the source faded when she saw the pretty blonde beside her.

Quinn instead set her coffee down on the table beside her and made a little show out of uncrossing her legs and crossing them the other way. "Well, anyone who does happen to trip over them can count themselves lucky to have such a nice view while they're on the floor."

"Touche!" She said smiling brightly at the brunette, and plopping down in the chair across from her. "I would have to say, speaking from experience, that they would have quiet a nice view from the floor."

She gazed around the empty coffee shop, tapping her foot a little. She hadn't seen the girl around in a while, her time being occupied by Tatum.

"So what have you been up to gorgeous?" She asked, laying on her charm thick. Quinn may have been her part-time friend but she was also her part-time friend with benefits and probably a little more than just that. "I don't think I've seen you since we got back from break."

Quinn's eyes followed Mackenzie as she moved and sat down at the seat across from her, letting the smile remain on her face. She couldn't have asked for better company to help get her mind off of other things.

She shrugged a little and took a moment to finish off what little coffee was left in her cup before answering. "Not really anything besides the usual. To be honest, I've been a bit bored." Bored and bitter, really.

"What about you, sugar?" The words were nearly purred out of her as she set an arm on the table to lean forward a little closer to Mackenzie.

"Well, I've been alright, hanging around with Tatum mostly. Lots of Quidditch training as well. You know, pretty average." She shrugged, in all honesty things had been pretty tame since getting back from break. "Well Hunter and I did get busted for fighting on the Quidditch pitch, but you know."

Mackenzie's eyes danced with mischief as the girl leaned closer to her. This was exactly what she needed to put a little zest in her day. She was in the mood to cause some trouble.

She leaned in a little more, giving the brunette a flirtatious smile. "I may have something that could brighten up your ho-hum life a little." She winked at Quinn, "If you're interested, of course."

For a moment Quinn's head tilted to the side as she tried to remember who Tatum was. It took a moment but she thought she knew who Mackenzie was talking about. Some Sonnier girl.

Her eyes met Mackenzie's and an interested look appeared on her face before the blonde even mentioned the idea on her mind. Saying it only made a hint of mischief appear in Quinn's own eyes along with the interested expression on her face.

"I am always interested in ideas of yours," Quinn replied with a smile. "What have you got in mind?"

"Well babe, as you know, parent weekend is upon us once again." She began, smiling broadly. She was extremely excited now, Kate was in for a wonderful surprise. "And I do enjoy royally pissing off my mother. She's not exactly thrilled with my choice of sexuality you see."

She leaned back into her chair, relaxing and sticking her own feet out into the walkway. "So I suppose I was wondering if you would honor me by pretending to be my girlfriend? Bad influence and all?"

"I'd be flattered if you said yes beautiful," she finished, shooting Quinn another charming smile.

Quinn nodded in understanding. She was sure that if her own parents knew she was only interested in the fairer sex she would probably be disowned. It would be the breaking point of an already fractured family relationship.

Mackenzie leaned back in her chair and Quinn leaned forward a little more on the arm supporting the weight. It was a subconscious movement that she certainly didn't notice, responding as it if never happened. She was just a sucker for a beautiful girl.

"Then my answer is yes," Quinn returned Mackenzie's smile with a charming one of her own. "You'll find I can be a very convincing girlfriend, bad influence and all, as you say."

Mackenzie had just smirked, noticing how Quinn had leaned forward slightly. It was a really horrible stroke to her ego when things like this happened. She loved it when it was apparent that people were attracted to her, she was only a bit self absorbed.

"That's what I like to hear!" She replied enthusiastically. Not that Quinn wasn't a wonderful person, but she knew the girl would go out of her way to get under her mother's skin. Something that Hunter had failed at miserably last year, on purpose. She couldn't wait to see the look on her mother's face.

"Well if you're that convincing, I might just have to keep you around." She said coyly, raising her eyebrows slightly.

Mackenzie's enthusiastic reply made Quinn laugh a little bit. Hell, if it was her, she'd probably be just as excited about causing trouble and pissing her mother off. Especially if she had a partner in crime.

"Well, we'll have to see how it goes," Quinn straightened herself out in her seat, going back to sitting against the back of the chair although the arm she was leaning against remained on the table. She also looked a little on the smug side.

Quinn brushed away the urge to keep on flirting with the girl across from her for a moment. There was now business to attend to. "Anything I should keep in mind? Things that irk your mother, dislikes...?"

Always such a business woman, Mackenzie mused, Quinn just got right down to the details. It was something she admired about the girl. She liked a woman who got shit done like that.

"Well, my mother truly believes that I want to be a debutante," She shuddered, closing her eyes slightly. "I honestly don't know what plant she came from but she's pink and frilly and girly to extremes."

She shook her head, thinking of how absolutely ridiculous Kate really was. "My mother is a delicate flower, so be as crude as you want. I know I always am!" She grinned happily, she loved it when she got under her mother's skin. "Not really much else I guess, she's just a really proper woman who is obsessed with status and appearance." She shrugged, "And hate's that I'm gay."

By the end of Mackenzie's explanation, Quinn's expression had taken on a mild look of disgust. Granted, Quinn was no tomboy herself. She enjoyed skirts and heels and expensive clothing but she was no means a delicate flower. She would murder anyone that attempted to put her in anything pink and frilly.

"Easy enough," she replied with a nod and a satisfied smile. Mackenzie's mother didn't sound hard to displease. "I'll have her hating my guts within fifteen minutes, guaranteed."

She pulled her legs back in and turned more forward on her chair so that it was better to be able to see the blonde. Mackenzie was much better to look at than anything else in that empty shop. "What day will you need me?"

Noticing Quinn's look of disgust, Mackenzie laughed, she knew Quinn would appreciate the special dislike she had for her mother. "I knew you were the woman for the job babe," she said grinning, she wouldn't mind just having the brunette on her arm either. She was certainly the kind of eye candy that Mackenzie loved flaunting around.

"Well," she said, tapping her chin in thought. "I know we're supposed to go out to some stupid dinner thing on Saturday, so that'd be cool if it doesn't weird you out too much."

"Just be warned, Hunter is going with us," She added, rolling her eyes. "For whatever stupid reason, my mother absolutely adores her. I'm pretty sure she'd adopt her if she could. They are insufferable together."
whodoo From: [info]whodoo Date: May 30th, 2011 10:28 pm (UTC) (Link)
"Hunter is insufferable enough on her own," Quinn blurted before she could stop it. She knew Mackenzie was on good terms with the Rienzi senior. Why, she had no idea. Hunter Sommer was CCI's resident train wreck.

Still, Quinn smiled. All that piece of information changed was that she had two targets instead of just one.

"It will take a lot than a dinner with your mother to weird me out, sugar. Saturday will be fine." She gave a little roll of her eyes and a sigh. Perhaps a bit dramatic, but it fit. "My parents will be doting on my precious little brother at that point, so I'll be bored anyway."
notonyourteam From: [info]notonyourteam Date: May 30th, 2011 11:57 pm (UTC) (Link)
Mackenzie shrugged off Quinn's comment about Hunter, she knew the two of them didn't get along. "Yeah, can't say I disagree with you babe," she lamented, leaning her chin on her hand. "But I love the bitch so, I gotta put up with her. And if she ever asks, I didn't say that."

She how Quinn and Hunter didn't get along, but now she was quite smug. It would be a way for her to get back at the blonde without directly evoking the wrath of her mother.

Mackenzie just grinned at Quinn's dramatics, she really did enjoy the other girl. "Well if you're bored I'm sure we can find a way to entertain ourselves." She waggled her eyebrows at the brunette, snickering.
whodoo From: [info]whodoo Date: May 31st, 2011 12:36 am (UTC) (Link)
"I doubt she'll ever bother asking me what your opinion of her is, so that's not an issue," Quinn responded with a brief wave of her hand. It was likely that any form of civil conversation between the two was never going to happen.

Another smile broke out onto her face with a light laugh at Mackenzie's face. "Darling," she leaned forward again, teasingly licking her lips as she did so, "I don't need to save that sort of entertainment just for when I'm bored."

Mackenzie leaned forward, closing the distance between them a little, a wicked smile on her face. She couldn't deny that she was extremely attracted to the beautiful brunette. Quinn and her might have butted heads on a lot of things, Hunter being one of them, but that just made the attraction more interesting.

"You've got my attention Mrs. Van Rensselaer," she purred, her eyes twinkling as she winked. "Please, continue."
