Characters: Everyone! Setting: Friday, April 15, 2011 Content: Yeah, yeah, we know. NSFW Summary: It's the Sadie Hawkins dance! Ladies choice, so get out there and have some fun! There was a subtle theme for tonight's Sadie Hawkins dance. No bright lights, or obviously themed decorations. No shaped confetti or strange creatures wandering around dressed in costumes. No costumes were in evidence at all, in fact. There was nothing cheesy or funny or overdone or bright or overt about the hall for tonight's dance. Instead, tonight, there was soft lighting in places (though not too soft. The chaperones made sure of that), blue and soft gold table decorations and centerpieces, and a dance floor with charmed candles high above to provide light to see and dance by. The candles were charmed to change colors with the music, much the way that Muggle lights were done in dance clubs and the like. It added atmosphere without looking gaudy. Here and there were the teachers who were going to be watching over things for the evening, there was a long refreshment table off to one side, and the tables for sitting and relaxing were staged around the dance floor. All in all, a subtly decorated place where students could come in and dance and mingle. ((OOC: This will count for the month of April's activity. Jenny/Charlie
|
Jenny really sure how she had let herself end up in this predicament. It wasn't that she didn't want to be there with Charlie but for the amount of drama it had caused her in an already overly dramatic week, it almost made the evening slightly bittersweet for her. It was basically her own fault. Her mother had called, just the same as every second night, and for some reason they started talking about the dance. Her mother had asked her who she was taking, Jenny hesitated briefly, and Paula filled the void with a quick assumption of "Probably Charlie, I suppose. Stay out of trouble, lots of pictures on Facebook please!" before wishing her goodnight. She could have said 'no', she could have corrected her, but she didn't. It wasn't easy to just blurt the fact that she had been planning on asking her girlfriend, being that it was her choice of date, not just choice of boys. She hadn't meant anything by asking him, she just wanted to make her mother happy by having a few pictures and maybe getting him to dance with her once, but Sera was taking it all kinds of the wrong way. Coming from such a mother's girl, it was almost hypocritical. Jenny supposed she couldn't blame her though, if Sera had asked a boy to go, she might be a little jealous herself.. but this was Charlie. It wasn't like she was just going to jump into bed with him. She knew all of his tricks anyway. Trying just to forget whatever sort of pissed mindset Sera was in, Jenny got ready for the evening and waited impatiently for Charlie to arrive. She had wanted to be picked up early, so they could leave early if they decided to. When they arrived at the dance, there weren't too many people around, and Jenny glanced curiously at him. "I know it's a stupid question because you're just going to be rude and make fun of dancing or something, but is there anything you want to do first?"

Erica didn't like to get anywhere early except for bed and the field. Dances were the worst for arriving early, when no one was there yet and there were just those few awkward couples milling around. She didn't want any part in all of that. She took her time choosing her dress for the evening and fixing her hair. When she entered the room, hanging closely onto Stas by his arm as they walked in, the dark-haired girl was smiling widely. Everything was already in full swing, and the dance floor was crowded, although she didn't feel like dancing just yet. She took her cursory glance around to see if she spotted any of her friends, maybe even her brothers, someone had texted her earlier and said they had seen them. That was a sight almost rarest to have to see, although she mostly hoped no one was messing with Brian. She really didn't want to have to mess up her night by getting into a fight or something. She rarely went to two dances with the same date, but it had been some time since she had last seen Stas, and the news of his break-up with Sunny was just too good to resist. There was nothing wrong with a little rebound. She gave Stas' arm a little squeeze. "Do you wanna get a drink or something?" she asked him eventually, as if suddenly realizing he was still there. She had been off in her own world wondering about Brian. Did he remember to bring his own cups tonight? It was weird, sure, but better than the alternative to him having have to use a public cup.

Akio/ OPEN
|
Akio had been having a marvelous time at the dance, thoroughly enjoying the company of Sibyl. She was a wonderful date, but the feelings he was having were confusing. Therefore, excusing himself from his stunning date, he meandered through the throng of dancing revellers to the side door, then outside to the courtyard.
He inhaled deeply, glad to be this far south. It was one of the perks of going to school here - being able to enjoy the sights and smells of the Big Easy. It was something only someone who lived here, or had visited here could appreciate.
He seated himself on a bench, crossing his legs at his ankles and leaning back against the outside wall. He gazed up at the starry sky for a moment, before closing his eyes to bask in the night's glory. This, and only this, was why he hadn't heard the approach of the newcomer.

Quinn/Brian
|
There were several things, by this point in the evening, that became abundantly clear: a few important people were not in attendance. Most of her usual amusement targets were nowhere to be seen, Alex was missing, and Emilie was missing. She thought she might have seen Stas earlier but had lost sight of him before she could corner him.
So naturally, Quinn decided to find out where her darling brother was. Yevgeni was nowhere in sight, but she did spot that other freshman boy she believed Alex knew. If she was right, it was Alex's roommate. Brian or something.
Before the boy could dodge out of her sight, she moved around a few of the other students and came up beside him. "Not interrupting anything, I hope?" Quinn said with a smirk. It was rather obvious this kid was the socially awkward type.

Planning yet another successful dance was a call for celebration. Hunter had been looking around everywhere for Michi, ready to attack her with a much needed supply of high-fives, but since the blonde was already half in the bag as the saying goes.. finding anyone wasn't really working. She was pretty sure she had been outside for a while, at least before the dance ended, but it was definitely over now. There was no noise coming from the hall other than the last few people heading outside, and Hunter watched them closely with her arms crossed, hoping to recognize someone. It was Friday night, just because the dance was over didn't mean that everyone had to go back to their rooms and go to bed. What was with all of this no one partying? Turning slightly away from the crowd, the tall girl carefully extracted the flask from where it had resided on her thigh. Taking another gulp, she closed her eyes tightly. Tequila that she had at least been able to charm to keep it cold. Warm drinks were out. She wanted a cold drink and someone to talk to. Where the hell was everyone? People were still leaving the dance in small packs, but no one cool enough yet. It was almost like it was one in the morning or something..

Things weren't exactly going to Tatum's plan. She had finally give in and let Sera's words get to her, and now here she was at the dance, except that it was basically over and she still hadn't found Frankie. She had gone to Frankie and Rowan's room first and after getting no answer, she had retreated to her room to get dressed. When she looked in the mirror, it was great and she couldn't help but smile. No big dress. She wore what she wanted; her step-mom didn't even know there was a dance, Sera had been so pissed at Jenny she had forgotten all about telling their mother about Sadie Hawkins entirely. Tatum had gotten there around eleven, hoping that since neither Frankie or Rowan were at their room, they might be around here, but she had zero luck. Now people were starting to leave, and Tatum was among them, aimlessly wandering out of the front door in the crowd. When she was far enough away from anyone, she began to blaze up the joint from her blazer pocket, puffing thoughtfully and considering what her next step was. She just wished she had caved in a bit earlier, maybe she could have found Frankie.. assuming Frankie had come at all. Maybe she had asked Gray. Or already left with him. Tatum immediately chased the thought away, squinting her eyes shut. That was what most of their fighting had been about. She needed to trust her, and she did.. she just didn't see what chance she had against a popular guy like him. Sighing, she took another drag and looked up, seeing someone waving at her from a distance. She couldn't tell who it was yet. Reflex, she waved back.
