"A cage from you? No one would be able to escape from. Or be able to not lose fingers when opening it." It was an easy joke, and one that he obviously didn't mean. "I'd love that though, man. I trust your construction more than I do Petco, ya know?"

He smiled and shook his head. "Nah, not really. Just been doing the school thing, keeping a low profile, enjoying the warmer weather when girls wear shorter clothing..." He winked at Casey.

Joke or not, Casey still shot Vinnie a short look as he set his PSP down beside him and crossed his arms over his chest. If Vinnie wanted a cage that would take his fingers off...

"If my construction can't stand up to that of Petco, I no longer have any reason to live." Already he was thinking of things he could do that would prevent a mouse from escaping. Frankie's current cage must really be a piece of shit.

As anyone who knew Casey decently would expect, his face turned the barest shade of pink at Vinnie's answer. "Yea... I suppose that's a benefit of summer coming?"

"Hey, man, all kidding aside, if you can get Frankie to stop making his Great Escapes, then I'd owe ya one." He smiled at his fellow Beauregard.

Aww he was starting to blush. Vinnie smiled again, a little wider. "You can't tell me you don't have an appreciation of some of these girls in short skirts." He was gently joking with Casey. "That's one of the many benefits of summer coming."

He nodded, "I'll work on that, then."

It had come out in a softer voice than his previous responses, and Casey sighed as Vinnie went on. Of course Vinnie would just keep going. Probably was trying to turn his face even more red. "I never said I didn't have any appreciation of it," Casey mumbled in reply. If it wasn't his precious PSP sitting beside him, he probably would have tossed it at the older boy.
