Stas had wanted to go to Quinn's mardi gras bash, but the incident from the Snowflake Ball was still too close to the surface. It was clear that his friend didn't approve of his girlfriend and he didn't want another incident of Sunny being turned green.

So it was that he decided they'd go downtown to the massive Fat Tuesday celebrations. He had earned several beads early in the day flashing the ladies. He snatched a bunch more on the way and intended to give them out as the evening progressed.

He was already happily drunk and holding Sunny's hand. He had a flask stashed in his back pocket, but there was a good chance they'd get drunk just from the beer spilled on them from balconies.
