Weird. Awkward. Mildly depressed. "I've been okay," she nodded. "Let's of work lately," she shrugged. "Milo has been really well lately. He's on the mend, almost able to fly on his own again," she said pushing a stray hair behind her air.
"Thanks for asking," she smiled warmly. Okay... so he wasn't so bad.
It was good news about Milo, at least something was looking up from the shit happening at school. He returned the smile and brushed the back of his neck.
"I'll uh, come get my hoodie soon. Sorry it's been so long."
Oh god. She looked down, completely flustered and turning red. "Right," she said. "It's fine, you know, just... sitting in the closet. Sorry I uh... jacked it from you. I washed it," she added with a flustered laughed.
"That's true, but now you're gonna kinda smell like a girl," she teased with a little grin. "It was no problem though," she said nervously pushing a strand of hair behind her ear.
So Sim had drunkenly managed to persaude a sophomore to sleep with him, probably been an asshole, and she had still washed his hoodie? That was weird, but pretty sweet.
"Yeah, you could have cut it up into tiny pieces or something so thanks again" he joked.
Meka couldn't help but laugh. "I could have," she shrugged. "But it's not really how I roll." Rather, she took it out on herself and just avoided him like the plague. "Guess I'm just a little bit nicer than your usual fair," she wanted to slap herself when she realized she had said that last bit aloud.
She couldn't help but fall into nervous giggles. She was an expert at tip toeing around things that were right in front of her and now that it was out in the open she couldn't help but feel awkward on a whole new level.
She hid her face behind her cup for a second and shrugged. "And classy as hell too," she shook her head.
Sim pulled his cap down over his eyes a bit as he grew serious.
"I guess I am sorry. For that. I was really drunk." He winced, was he actually embarrassed? It wasn't so hard to treat girls like crap when they were bitches, but Meka wasn't a bitch at all.
Meka was at a loss for words. The last thing she had expected was an apology. "Oh," was all she could muster at the moment. She stared into her cup before looking at Sim again. "Thanks," she said quietly. "I'm sorry too," she said nodding.
"I was waaaaay too drunk," she nodded. "But it happened, can't change it now right? Just have to make sure it doesn't happen again. Lucky for you I'm not a clinger," she said with a little sardonic grin. She could not believe she had just said that and almost winced.
She laughed despite herself and shrugged her shoulders. "To be honest I didn't think I was ever going to go out in public again," she smirked. "I was avoiding the shit out of you."
"Oh! Oh no! I just... I didn't mean you, there's nothing wrong with you, you're fine..." she paused her face growing more worried. "I didn't mean it like that..." she was clearly flustered and talking was only making it worse.
"I'm just not like that, you know? Ah fuck, I'm really sorry."
"Right, yeah, I'm sure," she nodded. She held the cup to her lips and tipped it back even though it was already empty. She grimaced when he mentioned his room mates name.
"Oh yeah sure, uhh... Sim... this is kinda like between you and me, right?" In other words she was thinking, don't you dare tell you fucking roommate. She looked around as well, she would need a good place to go die of embarrassment after this run in. "Just drop by whenever you need to," her arms crossed her chest a bit defiantly.
