He didn't need to tell her that he brought her to dances because she liked them. He was doing all the things she liked in the hopes that eventually she'd reciprocate and do some of the things he liked (which was mostly drinking, doing some kind of drug, and having recklessly hot sex).

He really didn't enjoy dances, but this was about accruing brownie points with the girl he adored. He took her up in his arms and started spinning her gently around the dance floor.

"You have a point," she agreed brightly, already enjoying the sensation of spinning around the dance floor. She laughed and danced her way through the first song, the tempo was fantastically upbeat and she couldn't help herself.

The next song slowed down quite a bit and she gave him those big puppy eyes and leaned her head against his shoulder. "So," she said a bit shyly. "You have any plans for us on Monday?

"You keep tricking me into more dances," he pointed out with that wry smirk on his face. He wasn't going to put up more of a protest though. Dances were for her. Every other time they hung out was more his speed.

"I might have plans," he replied back. Then he faked a moment of surprise. "Oh. Wait. Did you want to spend that night together? I will have to cancel them," he teased.

"And the fact that you always fall for it makes me think you might actually love dancing," she teased.

"Oh you hush! I just... thought you might want to spend a little time with your girlfriend. I already started making you ice cream sammiches," she said brightly. "But whatever, I can totally sit by myself watching cheesy romantic comedies and eating said ice cream sammiches," she teased.
