It was another dance, and her step-mom seemed to be catching onto this theme of Tatum actually going to them. She had received her dress almost a week before the actual night of the dance and it had been hanging on it's hanger on the back the door in her room, like a looming pink nightmare. She had been trying to avoid thinking about it, but knew the day to actually wearing it was getting closer and closer. Now fully dressed up, feeling foreign all over except for her feet, Tatum was fidgeting uncomfortably with the top of the dress, giving it a rough pull upward. It kept sliding down, and even with the padded bra she had been sent to go with it, there wasn't much improvement. Between the god awful outfit, Frankie seemed to be in some kind of piss that Tatum just couldn't put her finger on. Asking about it seemed sort of dangerous, and she wasn't sure she wanted to go there. It would be best to salvage what was left of the night. Glancing over at her taller than usual girlfriend, Tatum offered a little smile. "You wanna go smoke or something? It's still pretty early," she suggested, turning to glance at the crowd as she said it. Some people were around, but most were just showing up.

Once they were settled behind the shrub, Tatum was already digging around inside of the cigarette case. She held a joint between her own lips, and passed a cigarette to Frankie, looking up as she spoke. "Tell her?" she echoed, a little sheepishly, as if it were the most absurd thing she ever heard. In all honesty, it had never crossed her mind. It wouldn't be worth it to listen to her step-mother lamenting every time she saw her for the next six months.. not to mention the tiff Sera would be in if she upset her precious mother.
"She doesn't care. It's not about what I want, is it? If it was, I think she'd ask me what I wanna wear. She thinks they're.. very cute," the redhead offered sullenly, lighting up the joint and inhaling thoughtfully. "I have no idea where she finds them. She must go in to Portland to do it, there isn't any place that sells dresses like these close by. Which I guess means I should appreciate the effort.. or something."

"She isn't always, but she's my mom," Tatum replied, watching Frankie smoking for a moment. "Well, she's not my mom, but she's.. you know what I mean. She's still my parent. She's family. I don't want to piss her off, it's just one night," she offered. Standing up for herself just never seemed like an option, and when she really thought about it, that probably started at home. She always did what her parents wanted, when they were watching.
She had always kept up appearances. They didn't even know she smoked, for christ's sake. She had no idea how she had gotten so good at hiding from them, everything from them, it was like second nature. Even if she was coming out of her shell more this year, old habits died hard.
When Frankie gave her that challenging look, Tatum paled quickly, coughing a little bit on some smoke. "Don't! Seriously, I don't care that much," she pleaded, even if it wasn't true. If anyone knew how miserable these dresses made her, it was Frankie. Lying to her was sort of pointless.

Ginger/Open
|
An hour as a suitable amount of time to be late, Ginger thought. And considering she had to get dolled up for this sort of event, she didn't think there was a need to rush. More importantly, she figured, there was a need to make sure certain other people were going first. After all, she didn't believe in wasted efforts either. And tonight? Was not about having a good dance. No, tonight was about teaching a few queen bees and one asshole that there are some 'bitches' you don't mess with. And to think, she was so nice to this poor souls normally. They weren't even worth her effort most of the time, but she gave them all her attention. Aww. What a shame she had to teach them better. And for now she had three poor unfortunate souls on her list- Michi, Sim and that fucking bitch Frankie. Heh. Revenge was sweet, wasn't it?

If Amy was to be honest with herself, she was here for the food. And an excuse to wear the red dress that she'd bought on impulse a couple of weeks ago at her favorite secondhand shop. It was way too nice to just sit there and collect dust. She'd showed up late, about ten minutes ago, and made a beeline to the refreshment table, sampling the food and getting a kick out of how disgruntled some of the victims of the exploding glitter hearts got. After a quick trip to the bathroom, she returned to the table to find someone else in her spot. Well, it was a free country. He was hot and probably a senior, an intimidating combination. She should have taken this as a sign to get the hell out before she made an ass of herself, but noticing a chunk of glitter in his hair, she couldn't help but blurt out, "You have glitter in your hair." There went not making an ass of herself.

Re: 8:00 - 9:00 PM

The brownies were pretty good and really, who could mess up chex mix? What Mal couldn’t believe was the punch; in every decent high school movie, someone spiked the punch…why did that never happen in real life? Maybe a few drinks would warm him up and make this whole thing bearable. He had no problem with partying and sex. He loved girls. It was the whole romance and relationship thing that tripped him up. After the love of his life was forced to leave him by her parents, because of his family background, his faith in relationships was shaken.
Who came up with these fucking exploding glitter hearts, Malachi wondered, just as a voice startled him with You have glitter in your hair. He turned and looked down into the eyes of a beautiful girl in a red dress. His reddish-brown eyes twinkled with mischief, “Who doesn’t?”, he replied with a smile, reaching to brush some from her hair.
Malachi paused for a moment, as if he were debating with himself about saying something, then he leaned towards the lovely girl and spoke loudly over the music, “Don’t take this wrong…I know we don’t know each other, but you look incredible in that red dress.” He shifted his weight and offered her his hand, “Malachi Ryder. Call me Mal”, he introduced himself.

She blushed, Malachi loved a girl who blushed; he didn’t see many of those on the party scene.
Her hand was small inside of his and he repeated her name, “Amy”, it was soft and feminine, like her, and it made him smile. “That dress should never collect dust”, he exclaimed, offering her a cup from the table, “Punch?” He canted his head as he looked this Amy over. How could this girl have only come down to trot out a dress she wanted to show off? Certainly there had to be tons of guys interested.
“Hahaha”, Mal chuckled at Amy’s remark about the exploding hearts, “Team Edward, I’m betting. Team Jacob fans would never promote all that glitter…werewolves and glitter just don’t mix.”
Malachi wondered if she came down here in that dress hoping to see anyone special, because he sure would like to dance with her. “So, Amy, looking for anyone I might know? I’ve been here a few minutes. Maybe I saw them go by.”
