Jake brushed a few stray blond locks out of his eyes, chuckling, “Yeah, some folks would say I have way too many references, but…”, he shrugged, “…you’re only young once, y’know?”
Hunter was always an upbeat girl and a tough one too; Jake hated to see her down. Listening to her talk about the Rienzi loss against Beauregard made his heart go out to her; it also pissed him off that he’d missed the game. FUCK! I missed the game! My mind was so involved with planting these bugs, I forgot about it., Jake groaned inwardly. He was a big fan of Quidditch and Quodpot and tried to get to each and every game.
“What? Bad captain? Hunter, no!”, Jake stepped forward and gave her a quick, friendly hug, “Baby, you are the best captain CCI has…and I’m talkin’ Quodpot and Quidditch!” He leaned back against the wall and gave her a wink, “Believe me, Hunt, ‘cause I go to all the games…and I ain’t tryin’ to get into your pants, ‘cause you’ve got those locked up tight”, he grinned, trying to lighten her mood. Flicking his cigarette ashes he scoffed, “Pish, Beauregard…luckiest fuckers on the face of the Earth. Wasn’t their founder a leprechaun or somethin’?”
