His face flushed up red again. "Well... well you're going to candy the bacon!"

So what if it made no sense at all?

"Besides, I said we were going to do it. So you're a perv too." He wrinkled his nose. "... perv."

"Candy the bacon. That's a colorful euphemism." She bumped his hip with her hip tartly and looked at the counter full of ingredients they had left.

"We're going to do it?" she repeated questionably with the biggest smirk on her lips. "You get to tell Sam then. I am not dealing with the aftermath of his reaction."

And now, he was almost the colour of her hair. "I-- Sam-- no." He sputtered. "No I don't think-- he wouldn't be cool with-- doing it. Us."

Ffffffffffffffffffffffffffff. He shoved the bowl of sugar at her and squeaked, "Cream the butter into that?"

She blushed at his reaction and took the bowl quietly. She figured she had embarrassed poor Bobby enough for one day. He was awfully cute when he blushed though. She stirred the butter into the sugar with a fork because she'd seen her mother do it that way.

She could only guess, but it was a very good guess, that her brother would have a horrible reaction to the very idea of her hooking up with Bobby.

She pushed the bowl back to him for inspection. "Is this sufficiently creamed?"

He palmed over his face. "Not nearly as creamed as my brain, right now." But it was sufficiently creamed for frosting. He added some cream and maple syrup, and whisked them together hard.

"This can go into the fridge until the cupcakes are cool enough for it. So... bacon and brown sugar." He crammed the bowl of frosting into a crevice in the fridge and came back out with bacon.

"Your brain is perfectly fine," she assured him. "Though it doesn't know it's in the gutter today." She grinned at him and looked at the bacon and brown sugar. "So um... How entirely sinful are these muffins anyway?" Anything that had bacon in it had to be against somebodies religion.

He followed her gaze to the bacon. "You'll only get fat if you count the calories. So... my advice would be not to." He beamed at her, and covered a small plate with sugar.

"We press the bacon into this until one side of it is completely covered. And then wait for the cupcakes because we need the oven to be a bit cooler before we can use it." He placed the sugared bacon onto a baking tray. "And then we cook it until it's crispy and delicious and so good you'd run over your own gramma to get to it."

"I'll burn it all off at the match," she assured him. She didn't eat junk food very often. This would be one of those rare treats.

"Oh that sounds phenomenal. The bacon. Not the running my grandmother over." She helped him sugar the rest of the bacon and set the tray near the oven. "Waiting is probably the worst part. Everything smells so good and you can't eat it."

"It's only the worst part if you wait." Bobby rarely waited. Most of the time, his cooking only came out with half-yield because he snacked on it during the cooking process. And the calorie thing was a lie-- he didn't count, and still got very fat during winter. Like a hibernating bear.

Once the oven dinged, the cupcakes were turned out to cool and the bacon was put in to crisp at a slightly lower temperature. Bobby stretched up on tiptoes to peer in the oven window. "Should take about 15, 20 minutes? Then your chocolate coffee milkshakes, and frosting and we've got a pre-game breakfast of champions!"
