"Oh God, I don't even know where to start." Abernathy shrugged through the doorway and flopped onto Mari's bed next to her. She presented the glittery lotion and the tubes of bath salts. "I come with presents," she attempted cheerfully.
She really didn't know where to start. There was the thing with Leon and Adelaide that she hadn't told anyone about. Then the coffee with Leon, which was nice and disconcerting. The plans her family made to spend Christmas in NOLA was gnawing at her. The big one, the one she hadn't even really broached in her own head was the whole Sam thing.
How could she explain the situation when she didn't want to admit to herself what was going on?
"I have a lot on my mind. Tests coming up isn't really helping." She laughed to ease the tension building in her chest. "I'm about ready to crack."
