	Characters: Apple and Janis Setting: Monday Night after Janis' finger and bits exploits. Content: SFW? Summary: Janis has had the worst night ever, Apple is epic with cookie dough. Adorableness is inevitable. Janis has had some suck-ass nights, some sucky days as well but nothing beats finding body bits and fingers on your own school grounds. After having spotted them, ruining her stockings and hightailing it back to her rooms, she had little to do (in her mind) than to inform the school via on-line. Some just called her dumb, others freaked her out even more (what if she knew the bodies?!?) Casey had even sent the Headmistress over to try and calm her down. It was a nice enough gesture, for all that Headmistress Pendragon was in herself, the stuff of nightmares. She was assured that the 'proper authorities' were contacted, and that a 13th year was going to take her to classes to keep whatever/whoever it is away from the scared girl. Even still, her night sucked. Only Apple had not freaked out, upset her or what have you, only promised to bring over cookie dough and nothing more. What could a girl ask for? Even after being 'calmed' Janis had no intention of leaving her room, and as she waited for Apple to she went ahead and changed from her ruined stockings into something more comfortable. After that? She busied herself by pushing the desk back to block the door once more, effectively sealing herself in- and everyone else, roommate included, out. Tags: apple evans, janis parke

Apple was cool and calm on the outside but he the creepy glowing eyes that had met him in the woods on Halloween crept into his thoughts and he had to force it down. If Janis had seen work done by those eyes... he didn't even want to think about it. He grabbed his cookie dough, some organic chocolate milk, and maple candies and headed towards Janis's room.

He forgot to put shoes on again, and skipped through the cool grass, the chill biting at his feet just a little. He knocked at her door lightly, hoping not to startle her. "Jan? It's Apple."

She didn't get scared by any means, nor startled- she just... jumped a little. Only a little. "One second! One second!"

There could be sounds of furniture being pushed around from the other side of the door as Janis freed it up once more. She didn't really dare to use magic to move those (and it was probably a good thing at that.) When it did open, Janis was a little red in the face, "Apple!"

Apple stood outside, hearing the furniture moving for a few minutes, his grin getting bigger with every second that ticked by. He knew he shouldn't really be surprised that she had barricaded herself into her room. "Hey Janis," he stepped into her room. "Want me to get it for you this time?" he asked with a grin.

"Yeah?" Janis replied between pants. She was far from the most athletic girl in the school, and her poor furniture was filled so as to give the heavy wood another twenty or so pounds.

She couldn't help herself from looking out the window every other few minutes, and once Apple had replaced the blockade- she went to throw her arms around him in a hug. "Thank you SO much!"

Apple hugged her back, holding her for as long as she needed. "I'm sorry it's been such a rough night," he said patting her back.

"Do you want to talk about it? Or completely avoid it and just dig into the goods?"

And she did need to hold onto him for longer than the average bear. When she replied, she was still speaking into his shoulder. "It was just... ...so horrible."

She paid the door a glance before looking back at him. "What did you bring?"

"I'm sorry," he said, completely content to hug it out. "You must have been terrified." He hated to admit it, but he figured not a lot of people had taken her seriously or they thought she was crazy for holing herself up in her room.

"I brought us the promised cookie dough, some maple candies, some organic chocolate milk, and some greenery for the lady. Just in case you wanted some," he added with an ever so innocent smirk.

Nobody ever takes her seriously, that's just a fact of her life, much like the fact that she's blond, or that her comforter is rainbow colored. "It sucked it sucks it suuuuucks"

She finally did pull away though, and with a glance at the door to make sure it was securely she smiled. "Yeah?" That... was a definite improvement. "You brought and thought of everything!" Of course she would want some, though god help them all when she got it.

"I try to do my best," he grinned. It was commonly understood that Apple was never really on top of things, but when it came to comfort he knew exactly what his friends wanted and needed after a rough night. He unpacked his goodies from his bag. "Where should we start?"

"Well, I've got spoons?" Janis was already feeling a bit better- not being alone in itself was an aide. The fact that it was Apple? Helped even more.

"Unless we should uh. Wait til we're really really hungry? Or... both at once or..." So many options, it was unlikely that Janis was going to make one any time soon.

"Sweet," Apple grinned, settling in and reaching for the cookie dough tub. But on second thought... "A little multi tasking never hurt anyone right?" he reached instead for the joints he had rolled in his room before coming over. "Shall we pop a window?"

"Right!" She bounced (yes, bounced) over to the window to prop it open just a liiiiiiiittle bit. Not too much, just in case well, the bit-maker was one to crawl into a window as well as a door. "Let's just keep an eye on it, okay? Just... you know. Just in case."

"I'll stand guard," he said chivalrously, placing himself between the window and Janis. He gave her a goofy grin and lit one of the joints, handing it over to her.

He wanted to help her get her mind off what she had seen in the woods, he wanted to get his own mind off the things that he had seen out there as well. He wasn't about to tell her about the horse thingy, it would just freak her out more. Avoiding the woods seemed like an all around good idea.

"So... you going to that dance thing before break?" he asked lighting his own joint with a match.

Anything associated with the woods were sure to do just that. Hell, even a butterfly could do the trick. Taking an experimental puff of the taken joint, Janis settled onto the edge of her bed, watching him, watching the window, and watching the door.

Apple couldn't remember the last time he had actually gone to the dance with someone, like a proper date. He didn't even know if he had a suit but he figured it might be fun with Jan and it was something they both seemed to need. "Wanna go with me?" he suggested taking a puff on his own joint and letting the smoke out slowly as he waited for an answer. It was going with a friend, a cute friend he happened to enjoy hanging out with, nothing bad could come from that right?

Janis usually found some random kid or another to go with, often to forget their names a few days later. Apple however, was a friend, a good friend who was here protecting her on a night when other guys *cough Shaws cough* were out being stupid.

"Really?" She beamed, and took too deep of a hit, coughing for a few moments before replying again. "Yes! Yeah!"

"You'll pick me up, right?" Another glance outside, "I really don't want to... yanno. Go out there alone." Or at all, but she didn't add that.

He laughed. "Right?" he asked. "I don't know that I even have a suit, I might have to borrow one from Forrest, not that it would fit," he giggled.

"Of course I'll pick you up. I wouldn't want you walking out there alone. Especially when it's so dark out," he grinned. "I'll even walk you home."

He grinned. "Festive," he nodded, liking the sensation of movement. He dug his spoon in for more dough.

"Man... I'd get lost if I tried any adventuring at night after a dance," he said. "I'll wear a suit," he giggled. "And take pictures, my mom would never believe me."

He chuckled at that. "Even if I crossed my heart, hoped to die, stick a needle in my eye, she wouldn't believe me for two seconds that I wore a suit."

"We should go on an adventure! We haven't adventured in forever! But not at night when we can't see and we can't use my compass," he said patting his pocket where the trusty compass was stowed away.

"Sweeeeeeet," he giggled, already working on his poses. He flexed, batted his eye lashes, and even did a little dance from his seat on her bed.

He handed her his compass when he was done making a fool of himself. "It's a good one," he said tapping the compass face. "Right, when the sun is up and is going to stay that way for a while. No dark. Even though I have an awesome flashlight. You should see all the fun stuff I have in my hiking bag," his eyes got wide with excitement.

At the sight of Apple 'flexing'- Janis ended up gasping for a lack of air from laughing so hard. Clutching her spoon and spliff in her giggle fit, Janis was definitely feeling better. Or giddy. Same difference.

"Oh really?" She replied, excited, "Where do you go hiking?"
The woods was not on her radar for that kind of question.

He giggled right along with her. He was glad to see she was in an infinitely better mood. He flexed again and jokingly asked "Can you point me to the gym? Is it this way?"

"Yeah! Dude! I go hiking everywhere! I hit Smokey all the time with my family and there are a few trails here in Louisiana that I hike when I'm here. When we're traveling in California to visit my grandma we hike the California mountain ranges, we've been to the Rockys and the Adirondacks and the Appalachian mountains," he listed off the top of his head. "We're hitting the Green Mountains of Vermont this summer," he added with a grin. "Have you ever been hiking?" he asked enthusiastically.

Janis was in no real position to respond, or give directions one way or another. Thankfully (or perhaps not) the cause of these giggles was slowly growing smaller and shorter.

"Makes sense," he grinned, not really knowing if it made sense or not. He didn't really pay attention to Disney or anything like that really. It was a miracle he even knew what Disney was!

Apple looped one arm around her shoulders in a half hug. "Any time," he said simply. On honesty, he had needed it just as badly as she did.
