Quinn/Open

The first hour had gone by with her checking out the various things to do at the celebrations this year. Most of it was the same old crap, though with different decorations and different locations. Then again, it was the same old crap off campus too.

After grabbing a bit of food and a drink, consuming both, she began to make a couple rounds around the paths of the commons. Naturally, Quinn was skating at a relaxed pace through the crowd, being that she was decked out as a Roller Derby girl.

Mostly she was looking for people she knew as she skated along, occasionally deciding to push a younger student out of her way instead of go around them. Especially if they were just standing there making themselves easy targets. Her attention was drawn by some loud noise off to the side and when she turned back, Quinn found that she was far too close to someone to go around. So, like with the younger students, she did the next best thing: ducked low and touched her skate before bringing her shoulder into their side to knock them over. Standard Derby move, really.

Quinn/Sam

Sam was taking it easy, strolling through the Commons and just waiting for the big event to go down at eleven. He had already enjoyed the plethora of Halloween snacks and was just taking a sip from his pumpkin juice when he felt himself being completely thrown. He tumbled over, his pumpkin juice splattering down someone's back. "Shiiiiiiiiiit!"

He landed hard on his hip and quickly pushed himself up to look at his assailant. He wiped his pants and grinned up at the pretty girl. "Hey, pretty nice shove."

Quinn/Sam

The way the kid went down was rather amusing. She hadn't even considered what would happen to any passersby, as she didn't see the kid was holding a drink. Still, the image made her laugh and she turned herself and stopped on the brakes of her skates as she looked down at the kid on the ground.

Quinn couldn't help letting her head fall to the side as she laughed. Her hands found their way to her hips as that head shook a little. She almost couldn't believe that she'd shoved this kid to the ground and all he did was compliment her on her tenacity. "I certainly do if often enough to be good at it."

Quinn/Sam

"You a derby girl for real?" he asked pushing himself off the ground. "I wouldn't mess with you," he took a look at the back of the girl who had been in front of him and squirmed. "Oops," he said shoving his thumb toward the girl with the now orange back.

Quinn/Sam

"No. I just like shoving people," Quinn answered with an evil grin to match the evil statement. It wasn't a lie. She loved tormenting people, although it was hardly any fun when they just laughed it off.

She had no idea who the kid was getting up in front of her, and glanced at the girl with the orange back. That image was only met with a smirk. "So who the hell are you supposed to be?" Quinn didn't know the first thing about baseball, and she'd admit it.
samtheman From: [info]samtheman Date: November 9th, 2010 02:53 am (UTC) (Link)

Quinn/Sam

"Fair enough," he returned her grin but with a sweeter quality.

"Derek Jeter!" he responded. "Don't you know the Yankees?" he asked almost astonished that she hadn't recognized his costume. "You know! The greatest American baseball to ever grace the field!"
whodoo From: [info]whodoo Date: November 10th, 2010 01:20 am (UTC) (Link)

Quinn/Sam

She simply shrugged. "I don't follow sports, boyo. I have better things to do with my time than worry about a bunch of people tossing a ball around." At least she knew about the Yankees, being from New York originally. Quinn just didn't give a damn about what they did, who was on the team, and who graced what field.
samtheman From: [info]samtheman Date: November 10th, 2010 11:44 pm (UTC) (Link)

Quinn/Sam

"I make time for the Yankees," he grinned. "But now I'm curious... what are some of those better things that you have to do?"
whodoo From: [info]whodoo Date: November 13th, 2010 12:07 am (UTC) (Link)

Quinn/Sam

"There are plenty of things better than watching boys toss around a few balls," Quinn replied with a smirk. She crossed her arms over her chest and let her weight rest on one foot, while the other simply moved back and forth with the aid of the wheels. "Being social, photography, drinking, to name a few. Productive things."

Yes, Quinn certainly did think drinking was productive.
samtheman From: [info]samtheman Date: November 13th, 2010 12:55 am (UTC) (Link)

Quinn/Sam

"You can be social while watching baseball," he grinned. "Photography is cool though and quite productive."

He wasn't sure he could agree with drinking being a productive activity but he did not say so. "I'm Sam," he offered his hand for her to shake.

Quinn/Sam

Quinn only gave a shrug of her shoulders at the statement about baseball and social. The only sort of social she could see would be cheering on one's team and dissing the other. That seemed to be all sports fans did other than talk about which players were good and which one sucked, and what plays were of note.

She looked down at the offered hand, though she didn't remove hers from her hips to take it. Still, she offered her name. That was about as good of a greeting as Jeter was going to get. Didn't matter that his name was Sam; she would forget that in about five minutes and so Jeter it was. "I'm Quinn."

Quinn/Sam

He pulled his hand back, letting it drop casually by his side. "Nice to meet you Quinn," he smiled. "Are you enjoying your night so far? Aside from mauling innocent bystanders?" he grinned.

Quinn/Sam

The brunette only gave a small nod to the first question. At the second, however, she let a wicked sort of grin spread across her face. "It's Halloween, of course I'm enjoying my night. Mauling innocent by-standers is just a good portion of it."

Speaking of which, there were still plenty of people left to be mauled, and her eyes darted around them to see who was nearby. Maybe she'd have more good luck with it; she'd gotten two with one stone in Jeter's case.

Casey/Open

The Tardis certainly was handy.

Casey stuffed the normal Tardis designed cookie jar full of pumpkin cookies taken from one of the snack setups on the commons and began to meander around. Every now and then he munched on one himself, and randomly offered them to people he passed. Just to be weird.

The idea to be the Tenth Doctor had to be one of his better costumes yet, and he certainly strode around with the confidence of that particular doctor. He came to stand near the bonfire, watching the flames move and light up that part of campus.

He only stood there for a moment before opening the Tardis once again and extending it to the person standing next to him. "Cookie?"

Rowan/Addy

Rowan was having a blast. There had been dancing already, and she had tried her best at bobbing for apples. Even though she just ended up with a wet face, it was still good for a laugh. Especially since she certainly wasn't the only one.

After drying off a bit, Rowan went over to the bonfire, set up away from the trees so taht there wasn't any chance that something could catch fire by accident. Sitting on one of the logs brought over for such a purpose, Rowan smoothed out her skirt and looked around at the other revelers.

Rowan/Addy

Adelaide sat down next to her. She had been following Rowan with her eyes for a few minutes now, trying to work out her costume. She couldn't figure it out though, so she just asked outright. "Zombie Marilyn?"

Rowan/Addy

Turning at the sound of someone talking to her, Rowan looked at the costumed girl sitting with her. "No, but good idea for next year. I'm Nancy Spungen. Sid and Nancy?"

Keegan had come up with the idea, which she thought was fun and had agreed to happily. It was a bit more revealing than she had originally thought, but that was part of the fun for her. "So, Happy Halloween, Addy."

Rowan and Adelaide weren't exactly friends, but Rowan had no reason not to like the girl. There was a flash of Leon's face in her mind, but she dismissed it for the time being.

Rowan/Addy

'Sid-and-Nancy' sounded vaguely familiar. She'd look it up on wikipedia later. "Happy Halloween, Nancy." She was definitely not going to belatedly congratulate her on being voted Homecoming Queen. Not a chance in hell. She sipped at her cup of pumpkin juice while that sore spot simmered off.

"Did Keegan come as Sid?" She couldn't see him around just yet; and she'd only just arrived. "Pop culture costumes always throw me."
cabotine From: [info]cabotine Date: November 16th, 2010 06:02 pm (UTC) (Link)

Rowan/Addy

"Yeah, he did. Costume was his idea, and I gotta admit, it's pretty fun dressing like this. I would never normally, but it is Halloween after all, and I couldn't say no to something related to the Sex Pistols."

"I'm usually pretty thrown by them too, to be honest. I don't know any of the game related ones, really. Horror movie stuff, yeah. But the trendy things? Not so much. At least with your costume, I know what you are. ...I think. Ref, right?" You could never be too sure, and Rowan didn't know if she was a ref or someone from a movie now. She hoped that given the conversation it was the former.

Rowan/Addy

"Yeah." Addy rolled her eyes and laughed. "Glamorous, huh? At least I'm not going to overheat..." she added as Vinnie passed by in a leather jacket.

Momentary distraction aside, she returned her focus to their costumes. "You actually look pretty good as a blonde." She shrugged, not realizing that it sounded like she was saying she expected her to look terrible. "Most people with dark hair can't do it." Adelaide's own hair was fairly light, but there was only so blonde she could go before she started to look ridiculous.
cabotine From: [info]cabotine Date: November 17th, 2010 05:33 pm (UTC) (Link)

Rowan/Addy

"Yeah, no danger of that here either." Rowan looked at the people in the warmer costumes and felt pity for them momentarily. "Its so different here from how it is at home this time of year. I'd be freezing there. I think I would have gone as an Eskimo or something..."

At the not-quite-a-compliment Rowan looked at Addy. Seeing the other girl's hair and knowing her own, tucked up under the wig, she bit her lip "Well... thanks? I wasn't too... sure about it... you know?" Did she mean that the way it came out? Or am I being too sensitive?
From: [info]legaux Date: November 19th, 2010 02:53 am (UTC) (Link)

Rowan/Addy

She remained oblivious to Rowan's self-doubt. She hadn't even considered that her statement could be taken the wrong way, so she wasn't looking for signs that it might have been.

"Anyway, it's just a wig. If you did look retarded you could just take it off and you'd be normal again."
