"Right." Bekka snatched the money back, counted it out and stuffed it in her pocket. Later she would iron out the bills, sort them and make entries into her ledger of the expense. Now she just wanted out of the room, to light a cigarette (or more) and forget that it wasn't even the weekend yet.

She grabbed her jacket, backpack and lighter before heading back to the door. "Call me when you get the bed delivered. And we'll see about that notice."

Tatum opened her mouth to say something, perhaps retort even if she knew it wasn't for the best, but Bekka was already heading out before she could really offer anything. The door shut, and Tatum's face collapsed as she flopped down into her chair and pressed her hands over her face.

"Bad, so bad," she murmured to no one, just inhaling shakily. How the fuck was she going to get that kind of money? Was she really in this shitstorm? It blew her mind, but it was real and something needed to be done. And presumably as fast as possible.
