“You can’t mend them?” Daisy asked, sincerely surprised. Her own experiences with magic often led her to either deeply underestimate what it could do, or, in situations usually brought on by some fantastic spellwork done by a professor, expect a bit too much from it. But, according to Daisy’s logic, if Professor McGonagall could transfigure herself into a cat, twisting a tube back into its original shape shouldn’t be too difficult. Not that she would have the slightest inkling on how to actually go about doing it, but still.
Daisy laughed and shook her head, glancing in the now-whole mirror to be sure that she’d successfully rubbed off all of the gloss’ traces. “Can’t say that I do,” she admitted, wiping at her lower lip a bit more with one finger. “At any rate, ought you to really buy them? They hardly count, not next to all this,” Daisy explained, waving one hand around as a surveyor of the shop’s somewhat dilapidated status. At Amelia’s suggestion, Daisy nodded excitedly. “Where to? Fortescue’s?”
