[03] untitled (pokemon, originshippy)
Okay, so. This is a prime example of why I should not write in the wee hours of the morning. XD
Pokémon, Originshipping (Wallace x Steven) retardation at its finest (ha).
"You know this isn't going to work, right?" Wallace regarded his powder blue-haired companion with an exasperated look.
"Of course it will! What makes you think it wouldn't?" Steven looked over at Wallace, slightly hurt, though he tried his best not to show it.
He had no idea why he was so set on making this work. He and Wallace both knew the mechanics of breeding groups, and so both knew that trying to breed Milotic and Metagross just wouldn't work.
"The breeding groups. Milotic is part of the first Water group and the Dragon group. Your Metagross can only breed with Ditto."
Steven sighed. He already knew all of this, of course; he didn't need to be reminded. "Well, they could still-"
Wallace cut him off. "No, they couldn't. Your Metagross doesn't even have..." He cleared his throat, not wanting to continue that line of discussion further; it couldn't possibly lead anywhere good.
The former Champion slumped slightly after this last comment, utterly defeated. Wallace allowed Steven a few moments to get over his defeat before speaking again.
"You know, you should really stop projecting."
"Projecting?" Steven blinked; what did this have to do with the topic at hand?
"Yes. You love me and want to sleep with me, but you can't possibly bring yourself to say so, so you try to get our Pokémon to mate instead." Amazingly, the Sootopolis Gym Leader kept an impassive expression on his face during this illumination. Steven, however, now resembled a tomato... a very sharply dressed tomato, but a tomato nonetheless. Wallace noted this with amusement.
A few long moments of silence passed between them until one word cut through the heavy mist of tension that had settled over the two of them.
"Well?"
"...I-I plead the fifth."
Wallace looked vaguely disappointed with this response. "We both know it's true. You know you'll feel better if you admit it, so-"
This time Steven cut Wallace off. "...look!"
"Please don't try to distract me," Wallace replied, slightly exasperated with Steven's seemingly short attention span. Still, he found himself following Steven's gaze to Milotic and Metagross anyway; Milotic had curled up with Metagross and the two were sound asleep.
"That's not what I was going for, but it's a start... and you have to admit it's kind of cute."
Wallace sighed; Steven didn't seem to get the whole "projecting" thing. Still, it was as he'd said; it was cute.
