Hendrix had been getting the silent treatment and for as much as he felt he deserved it to some extent, he couldn't stand it. So he prepared a retinue of his favorite Beatles songs and readied himself. "You messed it up, you can fix it," he told his reflection after adjusting his tie one last time and stepping out with his guitar. He had her Valentine's Day gift but that wasn't enough and he knew it. He had to prove himself.

He knew that during their lunch hour most people would be out in the commons, making their way to class or sitting down for a little lunch. It was there that he spotted her. It nearly broke his heart to see her but know how upset she was with him. No matter. He would fix it, he had to fix it. He started strumming, tentatively at first. That wouldn't do it, not at all. He started over, this time playing louder and he began singing; something he never did in public. He looked right at her though, doing his best to keep eye contact despite the fact that his face was turning redder and redder as more and more people stopped by to watch the fool on campus with a guitar.

Gaudy wasn't the right word for the way that the ball room had been decorated. Gaudy wasn't nearly extreme enough a word to cover the over the top ridiculousness that had occurred in the room. Shades of red, pink, purple, and white flooded all over the hall. Fat, naked cherub toys swung from the ceiling shooting foam, heart shaped arrows down into the crowd. Red hearts floated past and every once in a while, one of the hearts would explode and send glitter all over the place.

Streamers, banners, and table cloths were heart and glitter covered. Staff were watching the students and aurors took a few rounds around the outside of the building. Snack tables were covered in Valentine's Day snacks and the punch was bright red with Valentine's Day themed cups.

Cooper, Hernandez, and Baxter had all met the day before to talk about their plans for the watch teams. They figured they might not have been the most formidable team but they were damned if they weren't the best organized. They had herded their students together, what seemed to be a pretty easy group to work with and given each of them a map. "Now listen up everyone, no matter what, we've got to stick together," Cecelia said firmly. "We leave no one behind, got it?"

Michael didn't wait for the students to respond. "Now as you can see, Professor Campbell has prepared maps with our route around campus for everyone. We're taking the east loop. We start here as our rendez-vous point and head toward the sporting fields. We're going to check the fields first and then head into the woods. We'll walk back until we come to the Blue Ridge Lake at which point we'll circle as far around as we can and then head back through the woods toward University Hall."

"It's our duty to also check the woods behind Black Bear Road. By the time we're done with that it should be time to meet with the other groups at King's Hall so we'll cut across the campus then and bring any findings to the other groups," Baxter said. "Afterwards we expect all you students to escort each other home as it is dangerous times on campus," Baxter added solemnly. "Does anyone have any questions before we head out?"

It was the last dance of the calendar year and the last chance to have a great bash, it was the last chance to impress. The social events committee, with the help of the staff, had decorated King's Hall to be a winter wonderland. They charmed giant, fluffy flakes to fall from the ceiling, the walls seemed almost iced over, and jovial holiday music played overhead as if were coming down from the ceiling with the snow flakes.

A snack and drink table was set up in the back, blue and silver table clothes lining the long tables and silver chairs set up around the whole hall. There was a giant light up evergreen tree at the back of the room with decorations that students from the past had given to the school and there were several menorahs set up and lit around the room. The staff were dressed in their holiday best and prowling the dance for drunk kids and boys and girls who were dancing to close but generally there was a feeling of merriment, joy, and excitement over the holidays.

Hendrix had been practicing it over and over in his head, at least one hundred times, he had even written it down. He was much better on paper than he ever was when he was talking. His dad, of all people, had talked him through it twice on the phone. "Now Hen, all you gotta do is go up to her an' tell her how ya feel. Make her feel all special and such," David Turner informed his son. "Just put the box in her hand and say that you like her. Then ask her out. Simple as that."

Simple as that. Simple as that?! There was nothing simple about it! He was already freaking out and every time his dad told him to calm down he would just start to panic. After finally settling down Hendrix pulled his sweater on and thanked his dad for the pep talk. He made the familiar walk over to Ella and Jenny's room, taking his time, practically crawling up the stairs until finally he was at the door knocking and there was no turning back.

It was terrifying, his stomach bottomed out as he waited on the other side of the door. This really would change everything.

He couldn't believe he was sneaking out of his house. He had never snuck out of the house before, he had never really had a reason to sneak out of the house but once the idea popped into his head he couldn't sit still. After throwing some clothes in his backpack he climbed out his own window and climbed down the fire escape. Once he was on the ground it was a straight shot to the local floo network. It only took a matter of seconds before he was standing in the terminal of the local floo station just outside of where the twins lived in Michigan.

His head was kind of woozy as he stood there in the public station, adjusting the straps to his backpack. He was basically there, he just had to get to the house now and climb up to her window and that would be it. Right? He plunked himself down on a bench and rested his head in his hands for a few minutes, trying to steel his nerves. He knew at that point that it was now or never so he forced himself up and walked the few blocks to the Parry house.

Hendrix felt like a spy as he ducked in and out of the shadows and then climbed up to Ella's window, hoping that she wouldn't scream at the sight of a boy in her window. He gave it a little tap and waited.

The staff had been planning for homecoming all week along with the students and the events committee. With the themed days leading up to the dance along with the game, everyone on campus was revved up and ready to go. King's Hall had been decorated to the nines, keeping to the schools blue color theme. When the game was over, and Appalachia house walked off the fields champions of the homecoming game, one of the large center banners turned turquoise and silver with a wolf mascot in the center to celebrate the team's victory.

By seven the music was playing and the ball room was filling with students and staff. There were several tables lined up against the walls with snacks and drinks. There were balloons and colored bubbles falling from the ceiling and streamers flying through the air. The entire thing was exceptionally festive and Blue Ridge was prepared to celebrate it's homecoming.

Content: Hunter might be turning into a dad, but she still probably couldn't stop throwing parties unless she died, so she decided to do Halloween right! One big night of mischief and debauchery is much anticipated.

Hunter didn't usually put a whole entire ton of thought into throwing a party. It was one of the things that came naturally, she could usually just make it all come together, even at the last minute. She considered it a gift of sorts, but perhaps it was just that as long as they had booze and or privacy, almost any crowd of teenagers would be appeased. Whatever the case, Halloween was turning out awesome.

She had been limited her own drinking a bit, something Sera had suggested she try slowly at first so she didn't drop dead or something, but there was plenty to drink and more. She seen to that earlier when she had easily sweet-talked Sera into getting a few of her nerdy friends together and doing the decorating, while she dragged Mack off to help her buy supplies, returning with the back of her truck full of liquor and candy. Now with tables and everything all set up, it really did look good, very festive. She would have to ask Sera where she learned to charm things to produce fog like she had done all around the ground, it could come in handy for like.. escaping criminals or something. It looked cool, wafting everywhere around people's feet.

Wading through said enchanted fog, which was swirling about her legs up to below her knees now, the blonde ducked a bit as a firework shot through the air not too far away from it, exploding just about few feet above her head. She grinned. Just what she wanted to see, misbehavior! If someone didn't lose a finger or something tonight from blowing things up, it wouldn't be Halloween.

She just hoped it wasn't her. Dad's needed all of their digits and besides that, it had taken forever to have the other one reattached back in junior year.
