Mackenzie just rolled her eyes, she was glad that Hunter and Michi had gotten back together. She would never admit it openly but the other blondes happiness had always been a concern of hers. She knew that Michi would take care of her friend the way she deserved, after all, there was a reason she referred to her younger friend as 'ma. Someone had to look after the two of them when Kia was busy, and she couldn't think of anyone better to have her friends back than Michi.
"Yeah, yeah, I guess you guys are cute together or somethin'," She lamented, smiling a little bit. "Just tell your girl to lay off the mushy crap when she's around me. You're a fox Michi, but god damn, if I have to listen to her drone on about what goddess you are one more time, I might have to hurt her." She finished mixing the other girl's drink and slid it across the counter to her before starting to mix her own. She couldn't help but snicker when she heard Michi's response, and sent a wide grin of her own in the other girl's direction. "I suppose you've heard right gorgeous," She replied with a twinkle in her eye. "I much prefer to be the one doing the fucking." She laughed, making her way back around the bar to sit with her friend. She plopped down next to the other girl and sipped her drink thoughtfully. "Although, I may be loosing my touch. Seems like good southern chivalry doesn't impress people like it used to!"
Michi's whole face flushed at that and she absently pushed her hair behind her ears. "Jeez, I didn't know she said stuff like that," she put her face in her palms and looked at the other girl. "What a nerd!" she joked. It was nice to be back with Hunter, she just sort of got things without Michi having to spell it out for her. "I'll tell her to keep the gushy stuff for home," she snorted.
Michi laughed wildly at Mack's response. She leaned her head against the other girl's shoulder briefly when she sat down and then straightened up. "Well these girls must have their heads up their asses if they don't see how awesome you are. Got your eyes on anyone in particular?" she asked. She had always sort of wrangled in the older girls when it was needed. She cared about them and worried about them as well.
Mackenzie just grinned at Michi's flustered response, it made her glad to see that her friends cared so much for each other. If anyone she knew deserved happiness, it was her two best friends. "She never shuts up about you, you know," Mack informed her younger friend, shaking her head. She gave Michi a serious look, and rubbed the back of her head feeling awkward. "Just...don't hurt her Mich. She might be thick headed, but she isn't invincible like she claims to be. I mean, I know you wouldn't hurt her but I just gotta make sure, you know?"
Grinning at Michi now that the awkward part was over, she stuck out her tongue at the other girl. "And don't tell no one that I got kind mushy over the big oaf! It'd ruin my reputation, I know where you sleep at night!" She leaned her own head against the other girl's as she leaned on her shoulder and gave her a non-committal shrug in response to the younger girl's question. "You know me, I don't really do the whole relationship thing," She said with a small frown. She took a slow sip of her drink, debating if she should mention Tatum. She wasn't even sure how she really felt about the redhead, it wasn't often she actually pursued someone the way she had been after the other girl. "I...uh...guess Sera's sister Tatum is kinda cute, for a weird ginger freshman. I don't think she cares for me much though," She said finally. "She claims she has a boyfriend too, not that it's really an issue. It's just annoying as hell! I mean, last time I said anything about the stupid guy she dumped her drink on my head! Total close case," she ranted, getting a agitated as she thought about the girl.
"I couldn't... I would never," she said quietly. "She's a big, goofy oaf but I love her. She makes me all kinds of stupid," Michi grinned. "I'll take care of her," she promised. "And I won't tell no one how you're both a bunch 'a big softies," she grinned mischievously.
She listened carefully as Mack explained her predicament with this Tatum kid. She had never seen Mack so out of sorts about anything and she just knew that it was more than skirt chasing for her. "Well... she is pretty cute," Michi said nudging the older girl. "Not that I would ever assume anything, because you're a total badass," she commented carefully. "But it sounds like you might like this girl," she sipped on her drink. "Excellent bay breeze," she grinned at the other girl.
Mackenzie grinned back at Michi, feeling reassured she wouldn't have to put the taller blonde back together again. She wrinkled her nose at the younger girl and blew her a raspberry. "Ya'll better not tell anyone! Especially about the sleeping bag incident!" She laughed, slightly embarrassed. Michi had been the only person her and Hunter had ever told about the history of the duo's infamous sleeping bag. It had only been because she had walked in on the two of them stuffed into it last year when they had passed out drunk in it.
"She is pretty cute, huh?" She asked, grinning goofily at Michi. There was no harm in admitting that Tatum was cute, anyone with eyes could tell how adorable the other girl was. Mackenzie stiffened nervously at Michi's next statement however, she bit her lip and stared into her drink. Actually liking Tatum was something completely out of her comfort zone, and she wasn't sure if she was ready to admit it to Michi, let alone herself. "What? Oh! I'm glad you like it," she said absent mindedly. Feeling slightly self conscious, she took a long drink from her own cup, and was grinning again as she brought the cup away from her face. She gave the other girl a flirtatious wink and leaned in, nudging the other girl playfully. "Not to brag, or anything, but I might be an expert on mixing drinks for pretty ladies."
Michi put her hand over her heart. "The sleeping bag business was strictly a take to the grave situation," she grinned. "I won't be tellin' anyone about that," she nodded.
"Totally cute," Michi grinned. She had been pretty good at dabbling into serious topics with Mack and Hunter and then quickly pulling away. She had perfected the art over the years of being their friend and knew it was best to just touch on something and then retreat to something else. "Oh I'm sure you do! You could charm the pants right off any pretty lady you so wished with one of these puppies," Michi nudged her back playfully. |
