The corner's of the blonde girl's mouth twitched lightly as her grin grew a little bit bigger. “Working, huh?” She asked, tilting her head to the side in thought. “Sera mentioned something about your business, how’s that working out for you? I hope you’re not working too hard, the whole point of a party is to relax a little you know.” She winked at the redhead, and shot her a flirtatious smile. “Maybe let off a little steam?”

The other girls obvious discomfort at the situation at hand was amusing. There was something else about the girl's unease though, something that was nagging at the older girl. Usually, Mackenzie liked to make people feel uncomfortable just to see them squirm. She also liked to seduce cute girls, it was just part of her endless list of hobbies. Tatum was different however, Mackenzie actually found the girl's manic anxiety cute. She wasn't sure when she started thinking of the redhead's stuttering as adorable, but she couldn't help but want to reassure the girl. She wanted to reach out and give the younger girl's shoulder a small squeeze.

Realizing that she had been staring at the younger girl for longer than was necessary, she downed the rest of her drink, and waved the bartender over for another one. Why confront your feelings if you can just have another drink instead? When the bartender finally came over, she noticed that Tatum’s cup was sadly empty and the girl was boring holes in it with her eyes. “The lovely lady would like another drink too,” She instructed, nodding in Tatum’s direction. She wasn’t sure what exactly the redhead was drinking, but the bar keep seemed to know as he slid another full cup in front of the nervous redhead. She took a small sip of her own drink, enjoying the calming buzz that was starting up in her head. She had almost forgotten that Tatum had asked her a question, and she bit her lip thoughtfully until it came back to her.

“Yeah, it’s kind of my party,” Mackenzie shrugged, a small smile on her lips. “I didn’t think you’d come though, seeing as it is my party.” She took another sip of her drink and turned to face Tatum so she could really get a good look at her. The blonde girl let her eyes wander up and down the redhead unabashedly, her smile growing a little when she noticed the tie that she wore around her neck. Tatum was cute, and Mack wouldn’t mind making good use of that tie. Sera had made her promise that she would back off though and try the younger girls approach to winning over her sister. Mack wasn’t sure when she started taking dating advice from sixteen year olds, but she had tried everything else at this point. “I kind of got the impression that you hated me last time I saw you, you know, considering that you dumped your drink on me.”

She had kind of deserved it, to be honest, Mack had pushed the younger girls buttons a little too much. Tatum had been gushing about her boyfriend back in Maine and Mackenzie had made an offhand comment about the girls sexuality. The blonde couldn’t even remember, but not soon after she had, there had been coffee all over her head. It hadn’t been the first time that a girl had dumped a drink on her, but she had actually felt slightly bad about it this time around. Sera had spent a good half hour scolding her while she washed the sticky mess off.

Laughing lightly to show the redhead that she wasn’t mad about the whole ordeal, she smiled gently at the younger girl. “Hey, no hard feelings though, it’s not the first time I’ve made a girl mad at me,” she set her drink down and went back to staring at the girl curiously. “So…uh…how was your summer then? Do anything fun?”

"Not too h-hard," Tatum assured her. She had a pretty solid clientele, it wasn't hard to sniff out other stoners and freshmen were often a good bet. They were new, less intimidating than older kids, and often dying for a gram. Sometimes she could even sell those kids pre-rolled joint with half a cigarette in them for three dollars a pop. It was a pretty good business, but Sera had never quite approved of it. She was honestly surprised the brunette had brought it up. "S-She's jealous cause she's broke. It's g-going good, it's.. uhm, like pretty good. I'm going to, uhm. I need a 3D.. uhm, 3DS."

She was thankful when new drinks came their way, it broke the unyielding stare at Mack had on her that was beginning to remind her of a predator waiting for prey, and it also gave her a chance to shut her mouth and stop stammering. She took a huge gulp of the drink, a Kahlua sour, listening as Mackenzie spoke to her. She immediately felt her cheeks flushing, feeling a little bit bad about the last time they had seen each other.

"Y-You deserved it," she reminded her weakly, her eyes shifting nervously as the blonde girl looked at her, giving her that uncomfortable feeling in her stomach that she always seemed to get around the prettiest girls. She might have overreacted, but it was the first thing she had thought of doing, but it had happened. Everyone was always making their rude comments, Sera and Mack especially, and it was hard enough to just get through everything without their wisecracking.

She knew she hated kissing boys, they didn't need to remind her of it all of the time. There was nothing she could do about the way things were now.

Though she tried to remind herself that she shouldn't care, she felt a bit relieved to hear Mack laughing it off. She even cracked a very weak smile at the comment about it not being her first time to anger a girl. "I, uhm, could believe t-that," she agreed softly, sipping her drink again. She felt anxious all over again when Mack began to resume her close observation of her, and she shifted on the bar stool she was half seated on, looking out toward people dancing instead.

"I did loads, I.. C-Colin and I took about a t-thousand pictures I t-think. I've got rolls to d-develop for a month.. but it was super fun, we went s-swimming in the lake and we w-went to a concert and like.. n-napped in the hammock and shit, t-that was fun like.. stoned in the sun.. and uhm, I got a lot of.. w-weed actually like, f-from the plants, before I l-left to come back h-here. And we s-swam at the lake again that d-day too, and I just.. you know, it's stupid," the redhead tried to explain, trailing off absently. She didn't really feel like talking about Mack to Colin. She doubted the blonde would keep her jokes to herself.

Mackenzie snorted slightly at Tatum's claim that Sera was just jealous, Sera never really struck the blonde as the type to be jealous of things like that. She had a sneaking suspicion that the younger girl only cared because she was lame, rule abiding Sera now and not the little rebel that Hunter had dated. She decided it probably wasn't a good idea to bring that up to Tatum though, she didn't know how much the older Donnelly sister really knew about that three months. Sera had already sworn her to secrecy about a lot of things that happened during that time, and Mack wasn't quite sure if she could keep track of them. "A 3DS? The hell is that?” She didn’t really mean for it to sound as rude as it probably did, it was just a product of growing up with Hunter. “I uh….ain’t it one of those hand held video game things?”

The blonde couldn’t disagree when Tatum reminded her that she had deserved it, she still screwed up her face a bit. “Yeah, yeah, if you say so T,” she shrugged lightly. She was still slightly ticked off about the whole thing, it hadn’t even been the worst dig she had made at the younger girl. She honestly felt bad for the younger girl, she was so far back in the closet she had probably taken up residence in Narnia at this point. Mackenzie didn’t understand why it was so hard for her to just accept who she was though, it wasn’t as if she didn’t have a million people around her who wouldn’t be okay with it. She knew from Sera that their father wasn’t the poster parent for acceptance of these things, but Sera was out and proud anyway. Most importantly though, Mackenzie didn’t like seeing the little redhead so sad all the time. There was a definite sadness that she saw in the other girl’s eyes that broke the blondes heart. She was only the massive dick that she was because she didn’t know how else to handle Tatum’s blatant denial.

She was brought out of her thoughts by Tatum’s second comment of how the blonde angering women was believable and scoffed. “Some women just don’t know what southern charm is!” She insisted, waving her hand at Tatum as if to physically wave off the comment. She was feeling pretty good about the way this conversation was going, Sera had been almost right. Even if she had given Mack a list of instructions and made her memorize them before the party. The blonde girl would never understand what the deal was with that girl and her damn lists! Mackenzie was about to actually listen nicely to Tatum talk about her summer when she started gushing about Colin.

The blonde’s mouth hung open slightly, and all she could do was listen in horror as the redhead rattled off everything she had done with the boy. It wouldn’t have been as irritating if she hadn’t done everything with the boy, but Mack honestly didn’t need a list of all the magical moments that Tatum had over the summer. Didn’t she do anything else when she was home? Mackenzie was sure she was going to throw up, and she never threw up at parties.

“How…sweet,” she said finally. She tried not to let the sour expression she wanted to make on her face, and ended up looking a bit sick instead. She wasn’t jealous or anything, Mackenzie Dubinsky didn’t get jealous. She was only angry because Tatum was so obviously not into the relationship she was in. “Sounds like a fairy tale summer to me. Did ya’ll seal the deal too?” The words left her mouth before she could even think about what she was actually saying. She regretted them instantly, she knew that if it had happened, Sera would have called her to rant. She also knew that it was an extremely sensitive subject for the redhead, and she was probably going to end up with another drink on her head.

"It's uhm-" Tatum began, shutting up as Mack went on and came to her own correction conclusion. "Y-Yeah, one of.. t-those.. it's uhm, 3D. Obviously. I don't think l-like, uhm.. pop off the screen 3D, but I l-love 3D," she murmured, feeling stupider and lamer by the second. She chugged more drink to shut herself up again. She made a little face from behind the cup when the blonde called her 'T'. It was an annoying habit of a nickname that the older girl seemed to have picked up over the last year or so of pestering the redhead.

She had seen the look on the blonde girl's face while she spoke about Colin, and she knew something was coming, bracing herself for a comment of some sort. Mack was notorious for them, though usually she wasn't as crude as her best friend and counterpart. Tatum was thankful for that at least. "Yeah," she replied absently to it being sweet. She guessed it sort of was. Girls were supposed to love hanging all over their boyfriends, but to her, it had felt more sort of like a summer of hanging out with her friend and the chore of kissing him. And that had just been the good parts, before the whole summer had ended on a sour note of it's own.

Not that she was about to say any of that to Mackenzie, of course. Not if the other girl put a gun to her head.

When the blonde asked if they had sealed the deal, Tatum felt her cheeks lighting up like a Christmas tree. "W-What?!" she stammered out, dropping her drink and spilling what was left all over the top of the bar. "D-Did we-- what!? That's n-none of your business!" Tatum practically shouted back, surprising even herself with how appalled she sounded. Shoving the stool back, she stood up.

Mackenzie stood up quickly as the redhead's drink spilled all over the bar, it wasn't much but she really didn't need to be the wrong kind of sticky the rest of the night. She did find pleasure in the shade of red that Tatum was turning however. She almost wanted to say that it was because the redhead was adorable when she got this flustered, but that couldn't be possible. She didn't do all that cutesy bull shit, she just liked getting under people's skin. She was definitely getting under Tatum's right now, although, she was slightly horrified at how appalled the redhead was getting. It was starting to cause a scene, between the spilled drink, the girl's raised voice and the two of them standing. People were starting to look in their direction, and Mack hated that kind of unwanted attention. She had seen tons of girls causing scene's at parties, and a majority of them had been her fault.

"Woah! Calm down there little lady!" She soothed. She felt kind of bad in the aftermath of her comment, she had just been so irritated. It was almost like she had been jealous, but that would have been ridiculous. Why would she be jealous when she was just getting some not thirty minutes before this? She reasoned that it must be because she actually kind of felt bad for the kid and she was kind of cute. She had always had a soft spot for upset girls anyway, and she reached out her hands to grip the younger girl's shoulders gently. Mainly to make sure that the girl wouldn't bolt, but also to try and calm her down. She knew that if Tatum ran off upset with her again, Sera would chew her a new one in the morning. She had already fucked up her instructions, and if she upset Tatum again, she was positive that Sera wouldn't be pleased. "Look, I didn't mean 'nothing by it, alright? Come on, lets go somewhere quieter."

She grabbed the smaller girl's hand and lead her off towards a quieter corner of the party. She tried to not let herself enjoy the feeling of the other girl's hand in hers too much as she dragged her through the crowd of people. It was small, and soft, and seemed to fit hers rather well. She gripped it a little bit tighter as they neared their destination, just in case the smaller girl tried to bolt when she realized that they were the only ones over on that side of the clearing. She lead her over to the empty couch, and sat her down, glancing around to make sure no one had noticed their escape from the bar. The last thing she needed was one of the kids friends following them over to see what was going on.

"Jesus, did you have to go an' cause a scene like that?" She asked slightly exasperated as she looked down at the girl on the couch. She felt bad once again after reprimanding the girl, it hadn't been the redhead's fault that Mack decided to be rude. "Shit," she muttered, rubbing her face and sinking to her knees so she was level with the girl. "Look, I'm sorry okay? I didn't think you'd go get all offended, or 'nothing. I was just trying to make small talk or whatever." It was a pretty lame apology, but it was the best she had at the moment. Mackenzie didn't really do apologies too well, especially when it came to things like this. "You can tell me about you're little bear...I mean boyfriend if ya' like. I actually wanted to ask you for help on somethin' anyway."

She felt slightly hopeful now, she was back on track with Sera's instructions in a way. "I...uh...wanted to ask you to show me how to roll a joint." She asked lamely, standing up again and rocking back and forth on the balls of her feet. She hoped that Tatum wouldn't try to book it, because at this point, she really couldn't stop her without looking like a creep. She shoved her hands into her pockets, and looked expectantly down at the redhead. "You know...you can show me and we can talk about how you er...didn't seal the deal with ol'Colin this summer. I promise to be a good listener, and keep my comments to a minimum."

Tatum usually hated any kind of attention, it was all pretty much unwanted for her, and it was part of why she never understood girls like Hunter and Mack. How did they live in the spotlight all of the time? It just seemed absurd, and stressful too. She knew it was her own fault for overreacting, as she often did when Colin got brought up, but she could feel the eyes around them boring into her like lasers and it was driving her insane.

She hated the way Mack spoke down to her, telling her to chill out basically, but sounding like some condescending southern stereotype while she did it. She talked to her like she was cattle or something, Tatum decided. Still shaking, she managed a firm scowl in the blonde girl's direction, glowering at her slightly. When Mack grabbed her shoulders, she almost ducked away, but stayed purely rigid instead.

Opening her mouth to protest about going anywhere else with Mackenzie, Tatum was shut up as soon as the older girl's grabbed her hand without warning and began to practically haul her away from the prying eyes at the bar scene. A little drunk and a lot irritated, the redhead tried to ignore the way their hands fit together, the way their fingers felt like they were dying to be linked together. When Mack gripped tighted, Tatum instinctively squeezed back.

Sitting sullenly onto the couch, she stared up at Mack with a moody expression. "Did I-I have to make a scene!? Y-Y-You can't j-just ask people s-s-stuff like that, you're-- y-you're so rude!" Tatum practically gasped, bursting to get it out there. She rarely blew up at people, but Mack was learning how to press her buttons from somewhere, presumably Sera, and she was doing it more and more often. It seemed like for every time they had a day where she didn't upset her, there would be a day soon after that would ruin it all over again and make Tatum furious with the older girl.

It was hard to believe sometimes that the charming girl who brought her coffee in the library, despite the no food or drinks rule, and watched her study was the same girl who played every girl on campus and talked out of her ass every other day.

Sniffing indignantly and turning her head a bit to show she basically accepted the other girl's apology, shrugging her shoulders. "I don't want t-to talk about him a-anymore.."

When Mack asked for her help, Tatum's brows immediately knit together. What could she possibly need her help with? They did homework together sometimes, but their course loads had always been drastically different. They rarely actually helped each other with the work, but what else could it be? When the other girl just came out with what it really was, Tatum appeared to immediately visibly soften to her.

"Y-You.. c-can't roll a spliff?" she asked, chewing her lip a little as she stared at the blonde standing in front of her still. "How do y-you live?"

Mackenzie was surprised when she felt a tension drop out of her shoulders at the girl's reluctant acceptance of her apology. She was relieved that the redhead hadn't decided that she absolutely hated her. The blonde wasn't exactly sure why she cared so much what this kid thought of her, she had never really cared what anyone thought of her. Tatum was different for some reason though, and the earlier comment of how she was being rude was still nagging at her slightly. She couldn't back pedal and say that she wasn't trying to be rude, because in all honesty, she had known what kind of effect that comment would have. She hadn't intended to upset the girl as much as she had though, she had thought at most the girl would get slightly flustered with her.

"I told you I didn't mean 'nothing by it," She mumbled again, not wanting to make eye contact with the redhead. She was rubbing her neck sheepishly now, and was feeling extremely uncomfortable with the immense guilt that plagued her. Since when did she care so much about anyone else this much besides Hunter and Michi? "I forget that some people don't talk 'bout that kind of thing as much as Hunt and I do. And I can't really say that I didn't do it to get to you, but I honestly didn't think you'd be this upset, so, I'm sorry."

She shut up quickly after that, things were starting to get a little too heartfelt. Mackenzie was sure that it must have been the booze talking at this point, she never got this sincere about apologies. Admitting that she was wrong about something was hard for the blonde to do, and she wasn't about to let that be the dwelling point of the conversation. Clearing her throat roughly, she smirked slightly at the shock the younger girl expressed at her request.

"I...uh...don't really smoke much?" She offered lamely, grinning slightly embarrassed. The blonde wasn't even sure why she felt so lame for admitting that, it all came back to the idea that she might actually care what Tatum thought about her. "You know, being an athlete and all, it's not really somethin' I'm supposed to do. Violates all kinds of rules. But I, uh, guess it could be seen as some in the field research for my training? Ya' know, like, in case I have to go undercover."

It sounded stupid the second it left her mouth, and she was close to actually blushing out of embarrassment. That's when she knew that she had too much to drink, because Mackenzie Dubinsky didn't blush when it came to women. Especially younger ones with anxiety issues who hated her because she was rude. Groaning slightly, she plopped down on the couch next to Tatum, hands rubbing furiously at her face. "Don't you ever tell anyone that I said somethin' like that, capiche? Or...I'll knock your brains in."

"N-Normal people don't talk about t-that to their friends at all," Tatum sulked quietly in response. She shrugged a little at Mack's apology, just nodding her head. Though she hated to give the blonde the benefit of the doubt, she knew the older girl had a tendency to run her mouth without thinking. It didn't make it appropriate, but it wasn't unforgivable. "W-Whatever, it's done so j-just forget it," she murmured.

She wished she hadn't spilled her drink, she wanted something to stare into and she really needed to be drunk to deal with this. Reaching beside them, she picked up a cup of half empty beer and peered inside, scrunching up her face at the cigarettes ashed out and floating in it. She quickly put it back down and clued into the fact that Mack was talking to her.

"Athletes are lame," she replied easily, the most confident words she had spoken to the blonde all night. She couldn't believe she had said it, and quickly ducked her head a bit. "A-Anyway, I guess I can see how you're, like.. a-all square and shit and c-concerned about your scholarships I'm sure," she went on, rolling her eyes. "Why would you have to go undercover and s-smoke dope? That doesn't make any sense," she muttered.

It was stupid, but Tatum decided not to make fun of her any more. She usually tried to avoid mocking people, even when they were moronic, because she hated it happening to her. Treat others as you want to be treated, dad always said. "Knock my brains i-in then cause I'm telling my sister about that, you weirdo," she joked, sighing and leaning back into the couch cushions so she could reach into the pockets of her jeans. She pulled out a little bag of weed and retrieved her wand as well, looking up expectantly at Mack. "Do you got a cigarette case for me to work on?"

Mackenzie was about to protest that in fact, most people did talk to their friends about that kind of thing, but then the younger girl was dismissing the topic. She closed her mouth quickly, and thought for a moment as silence fell between them. She wasn't sure if she was interpreting it correctly, but she wanted to ask if Tatum's comment meant that they were friends. Was she saying it as a generalization? Or was she saying it to mean that it wasn't something that they should talk about because they were normal people and friends. Mackenzie shook her head lightly, she felt instantly stupid for worrying about something like that. She shouldn’t care if some university freshman liked her or not, she could have almost any girl in the school if she wanted. One little stoned freshman shouldn’t be her downfall.

She was so invested in the debate she was having with herself, that she almost missed Tatum’s jab at athlete’s. “Wha-Hey! Athlete’s aren’t lame!” She sputtered, straightening up where she sat so she could fight if she needed to. She wasn’t enjoying being on the defensive, it really didn’t suit her at all. “And I ‘ain’t got a scholarship, so you…shut your face.” She finished lamely, frowning down at the redhead. She didn’t really feel like telling the younger girl how rich her family really was, even if it was because of her mothers strategic marriages. It would only make her look like more of a douche bag in the end.

“Whatever,” She grumbled, flopping back against the couch cushions with her arms crossed. She wasn’t enjoying being on the receiving end of the heckling she usually dished out. “Auror’s need to know how to blend into any kind of situation ass, I’m just saying having a wide variety of skills could be useful.”

Still grumbling to herself, she fished her cigarettes out of her pocket and shook out a cigarette before handing it to the younger girl. “Sera will keep her mouth shut if she knows what’s good for her then,” She mumbled, lighting the cigarette as it dangled from her lips. “Otherwise I’ll start telling people some of her embarrassing moments, and let me tell you, she’s got some really choice ones.”

"Whatever. I know it must be like, s-so hard to be some hot jock," Tatum murmured back without really looking up. She turned her head a bit to look at Mack as the blonde flopped into the cushions, jostling her around a bit. She raised her eyebrows, looking a bit skeptical. "I don't think aurors do that shit but.. whatever f-floats your boat, your b-business," she shrugged.

She took the cigarette offered to her, cracking the end off for tip and then popping the remainder into her mouth, lighting it up. "Sera c-couldn't keep her mouth shut if it was full of g-glue," the redhead muttered. She didn't want to know what sort of things Mack knew about her baby sister. It chilled her to even consider the things that Mack and Hunter might have talked her into doing. Sera had been quite a different kid then.

Sighing heavily, she took Mack's cigarette pack from her and laid it onto her lap, trying to keep her legs steady. "Here, step by step, pay attention. Ready?" she asked, twisting the tobacco she had cracked off so that it fell onto the cigarette box. She pulled the little baggy of weed from her sweater, opening that next and waiting for Mack to agree to watch her. She was only going to explain herself once. Absently, she puffed at the smoke between her lips.

Mackenzie just ignored Tatum's comment, frowning a bit as she really thought about it. While she was sure that the fact that she was a "hot jock" did work towards her advantage, she didn't appreciate the younger girls assumption that her life must be easy. She sat there frowning as she watched Tatum prepare the tobacco, her arms crossed and her brows furrowed. What the hell did Tatum know about her life? She was kind of angry now, and wondered briefly why she bothered trying so hard to worm her way into this girl's heart.

She wasn't anything like the girls that Mackenzie usually went after, and she seemed less than impressed with the blonde girl. Mackenzie couldn't deny that she was extremely attracted to the girl though. It scared her slightly, maybe that was why she came off as such an asshole to the other girl.

When Tatum asked her if she was ready, Mackenzie was pulled from her thoughts. She blinked at the other girl a few times in confusion, "What? Sorry I wasn't listening." She studied the other girl for a moment, trying to figure out what exactly she had been asked. Her eyes flicked between the loose tobacco, to the little bag of weed that Tatum had pulled out. "I'm...uh...ready to listen now though."

Tatum rolled her eyes at not being listened to. "What a surprise," she murmured, considering calling the entire thing off. Why did she hang around with Mack anyway? There were way more cons than pros, but every time, here she was. Even after the rude quip about Colin, most of which were still burning freshly in the redhead's brain. She was rude, not paying attention, and she supposed she was still going to teach her.

"Okay," she breathed, grabbing her wand and casting a quick charm onto the weed once it was emptied out of her bag. In a few moments, it was finely chopped, looking a bit like it might actually be potions ingredients or something. Mixing that with the tobacco, she reached into the front of her pocket and got out her papers, removing one from the pack. "I like to, uhm.. like, try to keep it even. Mine usually turn out pregnant anyway, but l-like.. joints are like snowflakes. T-They're all different and they can't a-all be.. perfect," she murmured, concentrating on picking up little bits of the weed between her fingers and emptying it into the waiting paper.

Once it was filled, she held it at arm's length in front of them, so Mack could see her hands and the positions of her fingers. "Here and here.. and then like, use your t-thumbs to roll the bottom up and your i-indexes to roll the top over to m-meet it. See? Like, you're going in both ways. You know?"

Mackenzie felt instantly guilty as Tatum rolled her eyes, she felt bad for not paying attention while the girl was talking to her. "I said I was sorry," She mumbled, watching the girl's actions closely as she was given advice on joints being like snowflakes. Nodding along, she watched with interest as Tatum picked up the little bits with deep concentration and sprinkled them into the waiting paper. She tried to keep her mind from wandering to ponder what else the girl was good at with such precise movements with her fingers. Shaking her head slightly to clear it, she realized that she had been spacing out again. This time however, she had caught the end of Tatum's sentence.

"Oh I know all about going in both ways," She said, smirking before being able to stop herself. Coughing awkwardly, she took a drag from her cigarette and looked off in another direction. She wondered why she couldn't keep her big mouth shut around the redhead. She could usually keep the amount of ass talking to a minimum if Hunter wasn't around, but with Tatum it just kept happening. She felt like she should apologize for it, and looked back at the redhead. "Sorry, it...just kind of slipped out," she muttered awkwardly. This whole situation was becoming extremely sobering, and Mackenzie wasn't enjoying the feeling. "So...what do you do next?" she asked, trying to keep the conversation going.

Tatum scowled at the comment, but took it in stride, just exhaling heavily and giving the blonde a look that could have killed. "Whatever," she murmured dismissively, continuing to roll the paper between her fingers until she was satisfied with it's tightness. "When it's ready, you just like.. seal it, I guess? You know, like lick the sticky part," she explained, before leaning forward and doing just that, turning her head a bit.

When that was over with, she rested the joint on her lap and then picked up the cigarette case, tearing the edge off. She rolled it into a little cylinder in her fingers, before slipping that into one end of the joint and twisting off the other. "Ta-da," she stated blandly, holding it up. "Here," she added, reaching into her pocket again and bringing out her Tasty Puff. She put a few drops onto the filter and then held out the joint again. "Blueberry flavor."

Mack/Tatum

Mackenzie again found herself trying not to comment as she watched Tatum lick along the paper and seal it up. The death look she had received had thrown her off slightly, and she found herself silently wondering why the girl put up with her as much as she did. It wasn't like Tatum was benefiting in anyway from the blondes presence, or at least Mack didn't see it. If anything it was kind of pathetic how the redhead let her hang around. Turning the joint over in her fingers, she dug around in her pocket for her lighter, grunting triumphantly as she fished it out of her pocket. She placed the joint between her lips and lit it, inhaling as the cheery on the end burned bright. She exhaled slowly, blowing out a string of little smoke rings as she did and grinning at Tatum.

"I'm diggin' the blue berry," she said happily, offering the joint to Tatum after taking a few more hits. She sat back on the couch and leaned back with her hands behind her head. She studied the younger girl out of the corner of her eye for a few moment before speaking again. "Can I ask you something?" she asked, not really as a question but more as a segway into her question. "Why do you put up with me? You could have actually told me to really fuck off by now, but you still let me come hang around and bother you."

She was rambling now, looking slightly more concerned than she had before she had opened her mouth. She was slightly starting to feel the effects of the joint, and it was making her think about this whole question way too much. She hoped that Tatum wouldn't realize she didn't have to put up with the blonde and never talk to her again. Mack couldn't pin-point why, but she would miss the girls minimal presence in her life. "I know it sounds kind of pathetic, but I was just wondering I guess."

"I brought coconut and rootbeer too," the redhead informed her, taking the joint back and reclining against the sofa as well. Though she kept a few inches between their knees, the tops of their legs were touching on the cushions. Hitting the joint, she held it for as long as possible before exhaling the sweet smoke toward the sky. "The best," the mutter absently. "Like a wonder drug, it does everything, man.. s-seriously."

Her head was leaned back into the couch, and she turned it a bit to regard Mack with a little frown. "I dunno like.. why do you g-gotta ask difficult questions? Just g-get stoned," she instructed irritably, holding the joint back out to the older girl once she had toked it one more time. She held the smoke with puffed cheeks, blowing out a huge cloud and smiling.

Really, she didn't have an answer for her. She didn't know what it was about the other girl, whether it was the fact that she was essentially harmless and a lot less of a bully than Tatum made her sound, or something else. She drove her insane mostly, but it was because she never stopped to think. Which was probably more than partially Hunter's influence. There was just something about the blonde that kept her from wanting to banish her forever.

Even if she was a walking temptation, always making remarks and flirting with her. It was hard to deal with, but better than nothing.

Mack/Tatum

"Does everything, huh?" Mack asked, waggling her eye brows at the redhead. She cracked a grin to show that she was mostly just kidding around and not actually being a creep. It was hard to tell with Tatum though, but that comment would probably only merit a dirty look. "Gross dude, I hate coconut," Mack continued, wrinkling up her nose as she watched Tatum blow the smoke towards the sky. Mackenzie found herself entranced by how beautiful the girl was. Maybe it was just the weed talking, or perhaps he hadn't quite seen it before, but Mack couldn't take her eyes off of her.

She definitely blushed as Tatum turned to her with a small frown, and she was caught in the act of staring. Taking the offered joint, she looked away quickly and looked the other way. She was starting to lose control of her ability to censor what she said, and after taking a few hits of the joint in silence, she turned back to the redhead.

"Can I, like, ask you something else?" She began, handing the joint back to the redhead. She thought for a moment, biting her lip in worry. It wasn't an offensive question, but coming from her it would probably piss the redhead off. "Please don't get mad or like, pissed off. I'm not trying to be an asshole or creep or anything. I'm just genuinely curious," She rambled off quickly, trying to stop the word vomit that was spilling out of her mouth.

Taking a deep breath, she looked up at Tatum seriously. "Uh...like...you're straight and stuff, but have you ever even tried kissing a girl?" The question hung in the air, and Mackenzie shot a nervous smile in Tatum's direction. She almost wished she could take it back now, because Tatum exploding at her was almost imminent. Sera would probably hit her when she found out, and Hunter would just laugh at Mackenzie's utter failure. Mack held on the a shred of hope that perhaps they could just have a normal conversation about it without things getting awkward.

"Everything," Tatum repeated deliberately. "How can you hate coconut? Is something, like.. wrong with you?" she asked, half-seriously as she watched the blonde girl turning her head away from her to hit the joint. Taking it back when it was returned, her furrowed her eyebrows a bit as Mack's question, but would have been lying if she said her interest wasn't caught. She was too stoned to resist. Taking a long drag, she held it and then exhaled out of one side of her mouth, fixing Mack with a curious look.

"H-Humor me," she offered back as Mack chewed her lip. When she was told not to get offended, she tried to brace herself for whatever might come out of the other girl's mouth. Between her and Hunter, one could really just never predict. If she said she was genuinely curious, then Tatum supposed that she had nothing better to do than inform her. They were just kicking around and getting high, and that was when some of the best conversations started.

She waited for the question, looking right back at the older girl, but her eyes went immediately wide upon hearing it. "W-What?" she stammered back, sounding like she had just gotten the wind knocked out of her or something. She whipped her head left and then right, surveying the area around them, and finding themselves still ignored by the rest of the crowd. There really wasn't anyone in hearing distance of their conversation.

"Uhm," she began trying to go on. It was a question with a complicated answer, and one she didn't really want to talk about. She had only ever kissed one girl, very briefly, and the outcome hadn't been pretty. But now wasn't the time to talk about Frankie, especially to Mackenzie Dubinsky of all people. "N-no, of course not.. t-that's why I have b-boyfriends, obviously. I don't know like-- uhm, you know. I don't k-know what that's.. like. Or whatever."

Mackenzie waited nervously for the redhead to answer her question, finding hope in the fact that Tatum didn't seem pissed off at her for asking. She was happily surprised when the other girl honestly answered her question, it was probably one of the first times that Mack had asked her something and wasn't told to fuck off in response. Her response interested the taller girl, while she wasn't surprised that Tatum was claiming to have never kissed a girl, there seemed like there might be something else to the story. Mackenzie dismissed the thought however, it wasn't relevant to her current mission.

"Well, like, I know you've had boyfriends," She responded, rolling her eyes as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. Tatum always seemed to have to remind her of how straight she was, it irked the older blonde to no end. That was why she always poked at Tatum about being gay, because why would the girl have to remind everyone all the time if she wasn't trying to hide something?

"But haven't you ever wondered what it's like?" She asked, glancing over at Tatum cautiously. It was thin ice she was walking on here, and she knew if she made one wrong move, the whole thing would come crashing down on her. She scooted a little bit closer to the redhead, and leaned in so she could whisper in her ear. She made sure to not let their bodies touch though, not yet anyway. "You've never been...curious? Just wanted one little kiss?"

Tatum tensed up again, even as she leaned back into the couch. She studied Mack closely, her eyes flicking over the blonde, looking for signs of mockery and contempt. Maybe the weed was fooling her, but she didn't see any. Inhaling sharply and holding it for a while, the redhead exhaled slowly. "N-No," she kept on lying, her voice barely above a whisper. She didn't want anyone to hear what they were saying, even if the nearest people were a bit of a ways off.

When Mack scooted in, she fought the urge to scoot away. Her heart was immediately pounding in her chest as the older girl leaned over her, just barely hovering above her. Not touching her, but making her want to touch her. It had to be the weed. "Not e-even one," Tatum whispered, staring straight ahead as Mack spoke into her ear.

"I'm not g-gay, right?"

It didn't mean to come out as a question, a challenge, but it still sort of did. No backpedaling now.

Mackenzie scooted a little closer still, just enough for their bodies to barely touch. She couldn't keep the smirk off her face as she leaned in as close as she could get to Tatum's ear. Her lips barely ghosted over the skin as she spoke, "Only you can answer that question T," She purred, kissing the girl's neck lightly.

"I dare you to kiss me to find out," she whispered, back at Tatum's ear again. She leaned into the girl a little bit more, so that there was no more space between their bodies. She brought her hand up to trace her finger down her jawline. "What do you have to lose? If you really are straight you'll have your answer."

"N-Not a question," Tatum quickly corrected, still staring straight ahead as the older girl purred against her ear, making her want to groan. "It's a s-statement, a fact," she protested quite weakly, slipping up and letting out a breathy little sigh as Mack's lips touched her neck. It made the skin feel like it was on fire with every touch.

She wanted to run away, but it was like being frozen in place. Her eyes desperately kept watch, seeing that they weren't being noticed. "I d-dare you to fuck off," the redhead replied automatically, staring at Mack as she leaned into her. The hand on her jaw was ticklish, and she tried not to smile. "I a-am straight," she whispered, not fighting the body barely pressing into her, just staring back at the older girl.

It was hard not to kiss her, the distance between them barely there. But it was so bad, she quickly reminded herself. She decided quickly that she mustn't, just licking her lips instead. They felt incredibly dry, especially with Mack staring her down, daring her on.

Mackenzie watched the girl lick her lips like a predator, she was definitely on the prowl now. She placed her arm behind the girl on the couch and cupped her face with her hand. "Sure sounded like a question to me," she whispered against the redhead's lips before closing the distance between the two of them.

The blonde felt a shiver run down her spine as she kissed the other girl slowly. She had guessed that kissing Tatum would be different, but this was more than anything the girl could have ever anticipated. She could feel it throughout her entire body, from the tips of her fingers all the way down to her toes. Her head was swimming a bit, but she wasn't sure if that was the kiss or the weed. Either way, it was nice, and Mackenzie couldn't help but smile just a little bit into the kiss.

She traced her tongue lightly across the other girl's lower lip, pulling her a little bit closer and deepening the kiss. Mack was having difficulty keeping things slow, but she knew that if she pushed too much, the other girl would freak out at her. She was already risking it by asking permission into the other girl's mouth, and she knew there wouldn't be much farther she could push it right now.

Tatum was sure that she went into momentary shock when Mackenzie had closed the gap between them and brought their lips together. It felt surreal, she was sure that it couldn't be happening, she couldn't be letting it happen. Even if she had been expecting it, anticipating it.

It made her stomach clench uncomfortably, but somehow still pleasantly. It was a strange feeling, something she had only felt once before. She wanted to break it off, but something kept her there, still rigid against the couch but with her eyes now closed at least.

Feeling Mack's tongue brushing against her lips was enough to snap her out of the daze, and she let out a little whimper, pulling back a bit. "S-Stop," she managed to get out, but quickly contradicted her own demand, leaning in and softly kissing the blonde again for a few more lingering seconds before actually pulling back again. "Stop."

Mackenzie was disappointed when Tatum pulled away, but she honored Tatum's request and started to back off. She was stopped though when the girl leaned in and kissed her softly again. It was slow and sweet, something that Mack usually didn't put up with. This time she lingered however, just enjoying the small kiss.

It was strange, and in the few seconds that they lingered after the kiss Mackenzie felt something she had never felt before. She couldn't quite put her finger on it, but she wonder briefly if maybe this was what it felt like to actually like someone. Maybe even like them a little bit more than she should.

Just as quickly as it happened it was over though, the redhead was pulling away again. This time her demand sounded serious, and Mackenzie didn't try to lean in for any more. Instead she scooted a way and leaned back on the couch, her heart pounding. That had been one of most intense kisses she had to date, and it hadn't even been that steamy.

"Sorry," She muttered, not feeling as confident as she had before she had kissed Tatum.
