"I'm not coming out!" Tatum growled back, immediately backing up away from the curtain and putting her back against the side of the changing room. "Your s-sexy voice isn't going to make me either," the redhead added quickly, though she couldn't deny the little shiver that ran through her at her girlfriend's words. She was less than impressed with being tricked into this whole ordeal, but she knew that she should have known something was up all along. Would Mack really get up this early to go to a comic book store? That should have been her first clue.
She had been pretty distracted though, between making the blonde pull over for breakfast and being able to control the music in the Rover on the way there, so much that by the time that she realized Mack was conversing with Madeline, it was too late. She was getting along much better with her step-mother now that they were all living on their own, but even as everything changed, some things simply couldn't. Tatum had been nervous about prom on the horizon, wanting to go but unsure if she'd be able to find anything she was comfortable going in. Her mother would send her something ridiculous, same as always. Prom dresses were so over the top. Even when Mack told her that it was her choice this year, one step inside of the store after she was coaxed out was enough to prove her point. Everywhere she looked was lace, and giant puffy bottoms, just the sort of thing Madeline usually approved of. Well, for her anyway. Sera had gotten away with a few cute things over the years, but then again, she dressed like such a fuddy-duddy the rest of the time, her being fashionable once or twice had to be the law of averages or something.
Seeing all of the giant cupcake looking dresses hanging from the racks around them had only served to sour her mood, especially when someone from the store came over to help them, and promptly pressured her into taking a bunch of dresses into the dressing room that she didn't even like. She had refused several, but the ones she had were still pretty ugly too. She just couldn't say no to all of them, especially when someone on commission got in her face. How many times had she bought things just to make people like that go away? It was too intense, the sell sell sell attitude, and now she was barricaded inside of the dressing room in a god-awful yellow sequined mess. She could just see the toes of her sneakers poking out under the chiffon.
"I'm over eighteen, she can't g-give you permission to use force anymore!" she warned her jokingly, fidgeting with the top of the dress. She gave it a yank up, to keep herself covered. Her boobs didn't quite fill any of these dresses out at all.
