She couldn't help but smile warmly at the look of him. His goggles askew and the redness in his cheeks. "Oh no need to apologize," she said setting the food down on his desk, avoiding the assorted bits of his work left there. "I hope you're hungry," she said stepping back and thinking for the first time that perhaps she had gone a little overboard with the cooking. "I wasn't sure if you had eaten or not," she said putting her hands on her hips and swirling a little. "Figured you hadn't the way you've been working."
She smiled brightly at him, bouncing on her heels a little. She wanted to kiss his cheek but she didn't know how he would react so she just leaned against the window near him and crossed her arms over her chest. "How is your Valentine's Day going so far?"
Bastian's eyes went wide at the sight of all the food. Come to think of it, when had he last eaten. "That is looking amazing" he said earnestly with a real grin on his face.
How was his Valentines going? Uneventful, to say the least. He couldn't help it, even if he had cheated on her or whatever, he was so glad she was here, he scooped her up into a tight hug with little warning. "It is going a lot better now" he muttered into her hair.
She grinned at his phrasing. "Thanks, I hope you don't mind the vegan-y-ness," she said feeling nervous for the first time about her food. "My brother said... he said you can't even tell the difference..."
Sunny couldn't help the little giggle that escaped when he scooped her up into the hug. She hugged him back just as tightly. She pressed a kiss to his cheek then. "Mine too," she whispered. She just wanted to stay there and not let the world touch them. She pulled his goggles off and set them on the window sill. "C'mere you goof," she giggled playfully, pulling his face to hers.
"I would not mind! They already look very delicious, I cannot even imagine the taste!" he laughed, feeling that he could sense her nervousness.
He was so happy that nothing had changed between them. Except perhaps being more forthright with each other, it seemed. When she removed his goggles he rubbed his eyes. It was a relief to be rid of them, now that he knew he had been wearing them. "I forgot about them" he admitted, kissing her on the lips between laughing. "I am so happy you are not angry at me" he sighed.
"You're too sweet," she cooed.
It was a huge relief when they broke the nervous tension. She had been upset with the whole thing but she hadn't been angry with him. It wasn't his fault at all. Nuzzling her face into his neck she sighed happily. "I could never be angry with you. I just... I don't wanna loose you before I even really have you," she laughed at herself, feeling foolish. "I really really like you Bas." Normally she wasn't so forward but after what they had experienced she wasn't willing to beat around the bush anymore. It was now or never.
"I really really like you too!" Bas admitted. Even though he could get wrapped up in science, the only thing that pulled him out was her. Which really was saying something.
Excitedly, Bastian started scouring his bedroom for something he had stashed away. "I have brought you something for today, but I was not sure if... Well you know." He straightened up and presented her with a cooking pot, and a rock. "This is a space rock! It is from space!" he talked excitedly about trajectories for a few seconds before finally letting Sunny hold it.
She practically melted when he told her he liked her as well. It was such a relief. She felt like she could go back to normal with him now and not have to worry. Drama had always plagued her romantic life and up until that stupid potion, it had just been simple with Bas.
Sunny watched with amusement as he scampered around the room and accepted his gifts with a big smile. "Bas, you didn't have to," she practically hugged the space rock to her chest. "It's so pretty," she wasn't entirely sure what to do with it but it had been a nice thought. She had listened to him talk about the rock animatedly the whole while, feeling herself just falling for him even more. She had never seen anyone so excited about anything in her life. "Well I love it, thanks Bas," she set it down just for a moment to hand him the little bottle. "I got you something to. It's a letter writing kit in a bottle!" she flushed red. Of course it was, he could see. "It reminded me of you." |
