Jenny really hadn't known where to start. She figured that she should probably have texted Meka and let her know what was up, maybe she would have something positive to say, or she could even text Mack and see that everything got taken care of. Mack would talk some sense into her, tell her that she couldn't just stay cooped up in there under her father's thumb.
Except that she was pretty sure that Sera was beyond talking to, and that was half of her problem. Burying herself deeper into the blanket, she pulled them tighter around her head and shoved her face against the pillow, starting to cry harder. She didn't really have the energy or mindset to text or deal with anyone, she just felt weak and helpless, something she rarely let herself be. That was why she was supposed to be Head Girl, she was composed and in charge of her life, not just some push over. But it hurt too much, really, to do anything except cry. She didn't even know if she had locked the door, but if her mother came in wanting to talk, she just couldn't do it right then.
Hendrix obligingly followed Ella up the stairs and to the twin's bed room. He was cautious, walking quietly and carefully toward the door. He could hear her crying. He touched Ella's shoulder gently and looked at her concerned. There was only one thing that crossed his mind that would have her so upset but there was no way...
"Do you think it has something to do with Ser?" he asked quietly before they went into the room. |
