Feeling Jenny's hand rubbing her back Sera felt immediately just a little bit better. The brunette pressed her lips against the blondes neck for a few seconds and lifted her head, her eyes still soaked. "Thanks." She smiled staring at Jenny for a moment without speaking. The blond always seemed to know just how to make her feel better.
She looked back at Jenny, smiling again, and attempting to wipe some of the tears away from her eyes. She was right they did have each other, maybe Paula and Ron would even let her live there in the summers after her father kicked her out or disowned her? That thought made her want to tear up all over again, she was just starting to get control of herself. She tried to focus on the bright side. "Yeah we have each other of course Jen, always, I'm crazy about you." She couldn't help but crack a smirk, kissing her the shorter girl on the forehead once. "Of course you can be the princess, I wanna be one too though. Who says two princesses can't fall in love? It's about time, right? We should pitch it to Disney or something."
She was glad she could make the younger girl feel a bit better, even if it wasn't much and she couldn't offer much more. Whatever happened down the road would happen, and she had every intention of being there for Sera when it did. Whether it was good, bad, or some mixture in between. She told herself that maybe, just maybe, the Donnelly sisters were being overdramatic. She wanted to believe no parent could kick out their own child, no parent could just put their child out of their life, but she supposed she was living proof that it could happen. Parents were selfish sometimes.
Closing her eyes as Sera kissed her forehead, she nodded a little. "I know you are," she whispered back, smiling weakly. They needed to cheer up, and the brunette's crack about princesses in love was enough to bring the blonde back around. "You're damn right it's about time. I won't hold my breath, but it would be amazing to see some equality!" she replied, before thinking a moment and then scrunching up her face. "Although the fact that we've only just got a black princess doesn't really fill me with hope on the diversity front.." |
