Mackenzie made a sour expression, as if she had bitten down on a lemon. Hunter was right, if the sister's father was standing there she probably would have been doing her best to impress him. Mackenzie figured that the girl's father seemed like the kind of guy you wanted to be in good graces with. "Shut up," she muttered, giving Hunter a playful shove. "Like you'd have the balls to say it to his face!"
Watching Hunter put out the flaming debris that had landed near her truck, she stuck a finger in her ear and wiggled it around to try and get rid of the ringing. "That's exactly why we need to find them," She said grimly. "You know neither of them could handle something like that, especially if one of their parents are hurt."
She nodded in agreement, with Hunter, frowning at the taller blonde's question. "Stick together," she said seriously. "I meant it Hunt, we have to have each other's backs. No more than ten feet apart, go it? Always within shoutin' distance." She felt silly lecturing her best friend about safety protocol, but this was one of the reasons she had agreed to join Hunter in the Auror program. The taller blonde never thought before acting, Mack needed to be there to make sure that it wouldn't be the last decision the other girl would make. "Sorry to get all faggy on you, but you're my best friend." She muttered embarrassed, nudging Hunter in the shoulder. "I get graded down if you die anyway, so, don't fuck up my grade bitch."
