Hendrix had been practicing it over and over in his head, at least one hundred times, he had even written it down. He was much better on paper than he ever was when he was talking. His dad, of all people, had talked him through it twice on the phone. "Now Hen, all you gotta do is go up to her an' tell her how ya feel. Make her feel all special and such," David Turner informed his son. "Just put the box in her hand and say that you like her. Then ask her out. Simple as that."

Simple as that. Simple as that?! There was nothing simple about it! He was already freaking out and every time his dad told him to calm down he would just start to panic. After finally settling down Hendrix pulled his sweater on and thanked his dad for the pep talk. He made the familiar walk over to Ella and Jenny's room, taking his time, practically crawling up the stairs until finally he was at the door knocking and there was no turning back.

It was terrifying, his stomach bottomed out as he waited on the other side of the door. This really would change everything.
