"Mom," Tatum hissed, sinking deep into her seat as if she could just disappear. Did she always have to add on extra embarrassment on top of everything else? Nearby them, a few other people had glanced over and chuckled, but nothing catastrophic so far. She supposed she had to be thankful for that much.
"I'm just-- I had a.. well, I ate a b-big breakfast," she lied. She had never really realized how hard it was to eat without a good joint to back it up. Everything tasted so.. bland and boring right then. Especially the potatoes. Still, she forced in another bite.
When Sera bumped her leg, she immediately looked up and across the table, staring blankly at her for a moment before raising an eyebrow. She really didn't know what her sister wanted, but she had her doubts that it was anything good.
