Sam snorted. "What about captain of the cheerleading team?" he laughed. "Y'all both got one of them. That's gotta be worth somethin'."
Sam felt himself growing warm as she brushed her nose against his. It was one of those small moments that he cheerished, completely forgetting about everything else. "Oh hell yeah. Little Rascals and Three Ninjas," he grinned. "And can't forget about Fivel Goes West."
Tatum shook her head, laughing a bit. "My dad would p-probably ask you why you don't just play Quidpot instead.. and h-he'll call it that until he d-dies, no matter h-how much we correct him."
She laughed again, gently poking his chest. "Yes! An American t-tail," she giggled. "That's definitely like, c-cinematic gold."
Sam laughed and shook his head. "Well it started as a twin thing," he shrugged. "Then it was control this kids energy thing, then I actually turned out to be pretty good at it," he grinned. He could have been a nationally ranked gymnast on any apparatus but he chose to go to school rather than go on with gymnastics. Cheering was the closest thing he had to his roots.
"I agree! And the part with the sister mouse singing that song," he put a hand over his chest. "Pulls at my heartstrings every time," he grinned.
"The m-most athletic thing I've ever d-done is when Rath put me through the coffee t-table when we were like, ten. And it was sort of my fault, I wanted to play Jackass," she admitted. They had also broken the glass on the screen door that summer before their mom put an end to it by grounding them both.
"Don't even talk about it, you're making me wanna bail like, now. Seriously," she laughed. "I'd much rather be w-watching cartoons."
"Still pretty bad ass though," he gave her a wink. "I'm surprised I actually never played Jackass. Prolly cause Ina's infinitely smarter 'an me."
"Tell ya the truth? Same here," he admitted. "I gotta make appearances though otherwise the team gets all pissy," he laughed and shook his head. "Oh well, at least I got you here."
"That show was like, t-the worst influence ever. But it's g-great," she mused, smiling a little. "I still c-can't believe Ryan Dunn is dead," she sighed, smile quickly turning into a frown.
She was relieved that he felt the same way, and she leaned in to brush her nose briefly against his. "Good," she murmured simply. "I know that feeling, Sera would probably like.. r-rat me out to mom for ditching. But at least we're n-not stuck alone, you uhm.. have me for sure." |
