When Sera finally got back with Hunter she had missed a bit of the dance but things had for the most part, seemed to to have returned to normal. Most people were dancing again and she only heard a few whispers on her way in. Both good signs.
She went immediately to the bathroom before going anywhere else, even before looking for Jenny. She knew she'd at least need a quick fix up. With helping Hunter get Mack out of the dance in the first place, trying to calm her down, holding back her hair, several disgusting times from vomit, and practically carrying her back to her room, she was definitely feeling a bit wore out. She washed her hands and glanced up in the bathroom mirror, reaching to dry her hands off on a nearby towel. She looked back in the mirror and reached for her wand. Her hair surprisingly wasn't too bad, and she really didn't want to waste time fixing it the muggle way. With on quick flick of her wrist her hair looked just like it did when she first arrived. She grinned at her reflection once again, quite proud of herself and sauntered out of the bathroom. To her, excellent charm work was essential to a busy lifestyle. It wasn't laziness, just good practice. Spotting Jenny next to the snack table she made her way over, sneaking up quietly behind her. She wrapped both arms around the blond and pulled her backwards, kissing her girlfriend on the cheek. "Hey sorry I had to leave. I didn't really have a choice, Mack was out of control.. she's fine now though. Everything's good. She's sleeping it off." She apologized, leaning her head in the shorter girls shoulder and loosening her grip a bit but still looping her arms around Jenny's waist. "We should make up for lost time though. We could dance, or go for a walk or something." She suggested, wiggling her butt a little and pulling Jenny with her a bit when she mentioned dancing.
Jenny, like almost anybody who had witnessed it, had been a little taken back by Mackenzie's outburst. She hadn't been expecting to see anything like that, there was no denying that. It was just supposed to be a normal homecoming dance. Other than some tenseness between herself and Ella earlier while they were getting ready, everything had been normal up until the point that Mack burst into the hall.
Though she was a bit worried about Sera after Hunter came and dragged her of to 'damage control' as she kept calling it, things calmed down shortly after that. She had honestly been expecting Sera to return later than she did, and in a worse mood. When her girlfriend came up beside her, seeming playful and put-together rather than the haggard mess she had been expecting, the blonde felt immediately better. "It's okay," she replied quietly, turning around in the younger girl's arms so that she was facing her instead. Reaching up, she cupped the brunette's cheek gently before leaning in for a kiss. "It's not your fault, you're a good friend," she added in a whisper. "Whatever you wanna do? I just wanna have a good night with you.."
Sera leaned in letting Jenny kiss her again when she cupped her cheek. She was still pissed at Mack's behavior and probably still would be for a few days but there was no point dwelling on it now. Really what was done was done. All the damage control that could be done, at least until morning, was over and done with.
"I hurried back as fast as I could. I just wanted to be here with you." She smirked, kissing Jenny again, this time just lightly on the tip of her nose. The brunette thought for a moment, fiddling her fingers behind the blonds back, as she did. "Walk first, then dancing I guess? .. If that works for you babe." Sera responded finally, pulling her head back just a bit to look at the older girl as she spoke to her.
"I'm just glad everything is okay now," Jenny murmured, closing her eyes a moment as Sera kissed the tip of her nose. "I tried to keep an eye on Tatum, but I think they left."
She chewed her lip for a moment. "You guys didn't get any pictures," she sighed. The blonde leaned in a little, cracking a letting out a little giggle as Sera's fingers tickled at her back. "Okay, let's walk. Is it at least nice out?" she asked, taking her girlfriend's arm gently.
"I'm not sure if it is, bit it's nothing we have to worry about right now." Sera sighed a little but tried to refocus herself quickly back on Jenny. She didn't get a chance to talk to Tatum after everything happened, not that she really thought she'd get too much out of her anyway. Plus to make matters worse, if she'd seen her leave with Mack, she was sure Tatum had already decided who's side she was on. Even if she wasn't particularly on any.
Still is hoped her sister was doing okay. "Her and Sam?" Sera asked, already knowing the answer before it even completely left her lips. She was glad in a way, even if she was positive Tatum was just using him, he was still a good guy. Sera was pretty sure he'd be taking care of her if she was upset. "I got a few actually." Sera grinned bigger, pointing to her purse where she had her camera. "I managed to get a few with Rath and Tatum earlier and I got some of you and I think I got one or two of Tatum and Sam before Mack showed up. I wish I more though, maybe a few more of us to send to my mom. Did I tell you she has a special drawer where she puts pictures and letters and stuff I send her about us? She keeps it charmed so no matter how hard or where dad looks he'll never find it." She laughed, realizing hold around Jenny's waist, she let the blond take her arm. "It's really nice out. I promise." Sera assumed her, squeezing her arm gently. "It's a lot warmer than I thought it'd be actually."
"No, right after you guys left.. I think she just went to smoke, I saw Sam and Rath still around," Jenny replied, shaking her head as she sidled up closer to Sera, leaning in to press a little kiss to her neck. Her girlfriend was hard on her sister, but Jenny knew Sera wasn't happy about how things had gone down. Some things were just too harsh, even in her opinion.
"That's good, at least you have some," the blonde replied, her chin resting briefly on Sera's shoulder before the brunette pulled back and released her waist. She grinned widely at what Sera told her, her eyes a bit wide. "Wow, really? I didn't know that," she replied, looking thoughtful. She supposed it made sense, but it was sort of touching that Madeline went that extra little bit to keep up with them and still keep it secret. "I like warm," she agreed, as they were pushing their way out of the doors and onto the grounds. There were a few people around, most standing in circles of their friends and smoking, but Jenny kept to Sera's side, gently rubbing the arm she was holding onto. "You're okay, right? Good night? I mean, despite everything.. it sucks that it had to go down like that, seriously."
Sera leaned in against Jenny, letting the blond grip her arm trying to keep close too as they made their way through the few scattered groups outside.
"I'm okay, yeah. A lot better now actually." The brunette, pausing her step momentarily, leaned in again kissing Jenny once on the forehead. "I'm just glad she passed out while I still had time to come back for a bit. The whole nights not ruined, we still have time to fix it, well I guess for us anyway." The brunette shrugged, frowning just bit. Mack would be a sleep till morning but Sera was pretty sure Tatum wasn't having that great of a night. Picking up her step again, the two headed beyond where the others were standing and smoking. As much as she knew she was probably supposed to bust them, there was just certain things she turned a blind eye to, especially when it wasn't school hours. And particularly to smoking. Still it was best if any teachers came poking around outside to not be standing amongst a group of rule-breakers. She still had the one cigarette she usually allowed herself at dances, surprisingly considering the night she was having, in her purse. The brunette looked down at Jenny again and smiled unlooping her arm from the older girls and linking her fingers through the blonds grasping her hand. "Any idea's where you wanna go? We could just go for a quick walk, or stay out for a bit? Or not go back at all.. It's up to you babe, the night is totally ours."
"She's okay though, right? I mean, she passed out but she's not going to like, aspirate or something is she?" Jenny asked quickly, a little worry coming through in her tone. Mack had been an asshole, but she didn't deserve to pass out and die or something. In retrospect, even if they had the night together now, Jen sort of wished someone had stayed with the blonde. But if Sera had left, then she just hoped that meant everything was totally under control.
"We can do anything," she agreed quietly, glancing back toward the dance for just a second before turning on Sera again. She squeezed the brunette gently. "Let's just go for a quick walk.. see what happens," she suggested quietly, a sly grin crossing her lips as she looked at the younger girl. |
