Private to Katherine.I have taken the liberty of making dinner reservations for this evening. Perhaps you would also like to take in a show of some kind while we are in the city.
Our reservations are for 6pm.

Even I must admit it is nice to have a free day now and again. I am certain I will still be much more productive today than most, however. Loafing has never been in my nature.

Thursday September 16, 2010; late morning
Unlike many others, I will not be shirking my duties or neglecting my studies in favor of the nice weather. It may be a beautiful day, but that does not excuse acting irresponsibly.

I must admit that I am very much enjoying this term's literature course. I had worried that it would not be up to standard, but I should have expected that Eligere would adhere to its usual standards and fill our curriculum with only the best. We are studying the sonnets, at present, as you may have ascertained.

I believe I have covered many of your favorites, but I would not wish to overlook anything you might desire.

I do not understand why so many of our peers are raising such a fuss over the amount of work we have been given. It is as though they wish our instructors to dawdle or squander the valuable time we have all been given here. Are we not here to learn and prepare for our futures? I would suggest that anyone who cannot handle the workload might consider relocating to an institution with less rigorous standards. I was, however, under the impression that we were all here at Eligere because it is the best and that is what we wish for ourselves.
Of course, I imagine the masses will always find some reason to complain, regardless of how counterproductive it might be.

Assuming, of course, that you do not plan to merely make a meal of the chocolate I gave you earlier. It is most delicious and I would not blame you for doing so, but I believe something a little more nutritious would better serve you.
