Unlike Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade, Nordlys is a fully functioning village. It has the businesses needed for the school of course; however there are also many houses. In fact, most if not all of the staff with families actually live in Nordlys, keeping their families nearby. Some students can even live in the village, as well as any of the three other villages located on Ostrov I’da. Another thing that sets Nordlys apart is that the Wizarding Orphanage is located within the village, and many families will agree to take on children in the vein of fostering them should the orphanage be too full.
