Holly :*
Now the fact that this was going to be the third time in six days that they would be spending time in each others company didn't feel odd. It felt right. He certainly didn't think that he would be the type to go over and console his not-crying girlfriend, (if you were going to use such juvenile terms to describe their relationship) but yet he didn't even think twice about going over pick her up and take her back to his place after her lose in the playoffs. And he didn't even comment on the fact he could tell that she had been crying.

Even more so, it was Valentine's Day and he was standing on Holly's porch. The whole stigma behind this day was beyond obnoxious. Apparently if you didn't make some grand sweeping gesture in public, you didn't care or some other nonsense. It was bad enough he made plans for this evening, so he certainly wasn't showing up with flowers or chocolates. He rapped his knuckles on her door and waited patiently. He wasn't quite sure if she was expecting him, she certainly wasn't pleased about the whole raffle thing, which he still didn't quite understand. But he had a solution for all potential issues.

"I brought take out" he said holding up a bag with his finger. "I figured a night in avoiding all the red and pink and frilly nonsense would be nice."

As mortified as she would have been by going out to a restaurant that was dolled up in pink and red and love, Holly knew that if Theo did nothing today that she was going to be very, very sour with him and probably break it all off. Valentine's day was a tricky situation; as much as you thought the idea of sending out love notes and such on one specific day of the year was ridiculous and dumb, if you didn't receive anything you were the poor sap everyone believed didn't have someone who cared enough.

Not that she concerned about having someone who cared, but she did not want to be that girl. Especially...especially since the team had done nothing but tease her about the charity raffle, and Holly could not explain to you why she grew so crazily angry by it. It was---she'd had---boyfriends, just not ones that she actually invited to things and so----it was----she did not know how to react to this being publicly because she never had.

The knock on the door caused Holly to jolt off the couch where she'd been waiting for Theo to show up; the book in her hand hadn't been read and was thrown carelessly under the coffee table as she started toward the door. But then she noticed her reflection, and Holly mustered that she should not look as if she'd been waiting for him. She pulled her hair out of her braid and tied it up at the top of her head, she pulled a cardigan from the hook on the wall to make it look like she'd been sitting around, chilly, and after a few more seconds passed she opened the door, looking confused.

Holly tilted her head as if thinking about accepting his offer, and after a few seconds she snatched the bag out of his hand, "Good idea, I've got wine to add to this meal."

Theo merely raised a brow as the bag was so politely taken out of his hand and watched as Holly turned to walk back into her flat. "Perfect. Nothing completes a meal like a glass of wine." He said following her inside shrugging off his coat and hanging it up. He glanced around the room, curious as to if she was waiting for him to show up or if he was interrupting something, but he couldn't tell one way or the other. Not that he really ever could.

"So how was your day?" he asked conversationally make his way to her kitchen to grab plates for their food. He may stoop down to buying take out, but he would not be eating out of a box. "I would tell you about mine, but I can assure you that you would not care to hear about mundane ministry work."

Perhaps he should have planned something a bit more romantic as it was Valentine's day, but after all the sickeningly sweet displays at work, Theo couldn't bring himself to even attempt such a thing. The fact that he was here and not boycotting altogether should certainly be enough.

"What did I do..." Holly sarcastically mused, "Oh...you know. Sat around. Listened to the sports broadcasters talk about their predictions and yell at the wireless about why they're wrong." As bitter as she was about losing, Holly did not want to see any other team but the Wasps win the cup; if they were going to be defeated, they were going to be defeated by the champs. "If the Wasps don't take it, I'm going to have a wireless-shaped hole in the wall."

Which was entirely possible.

She leaned on the counter as Theo pulled out the plates. Holly thought that the only person who would ever be going into her cabinets was her mother when she randomly dropped by to make sure the house was still standing, but it was a nice-but-strange feeling to have someone just as comfortable in her home as she was. Sheesh. Holly flicked out her wand and the utensils floated out from the drawer, and she crossed her legs at her ankles, getting into a comfortable standing position. Take out did not need a table setting, for sure.

"Was your office disgustingly decorated?" she asked with a smirk, her eyes definitely not trying to subtly figure out if he had a present for her hidden in his cloak.

Theo hmmed listened to her while scooped the food from the containers onto plates, sliding one over to Holly. He bit back the 'You know they can't hear you' remark opting for something a bit more supportive. "Perhaps a vacation is in order, then you won't have to worry about putting holes in your wall."

Theo made a face when she asked about his office. "Of course it was." He said as stabbed his fork into his food. "Anything that could be possible be turned pink or red or white was, and then covered in little hearts and roses. It was like a cupid exploded and no one bothered to clean up the mess. Luckily enough they were smart enough stay away from my desk."

He took a bite of his food chewing thoughtfully as he watched her try and be subtle about looking him over, returning her smirk after a moment. "I have something for you." He said casually between bites of his dinner. Really no point of drawing this out if she was expecting presents. "I wouldn't get to excited though, its not a Valentine's present."

Holly had humored the idea of sending a ridiculously obnoxious valentine to Theo's desk, but seeing as they were prone to get into fights for reasons neither could really figure out, she decided against it. It wouldn't have been worth it if she couldn't have seen his face as the delivery person made a beeline to his desk. Though knowing Theo, he may have hexed the poor kid and they would've had a huge problem on their hands. His hands.

She twirled her fork around the plate, giving up trying to be subtle, but still not approaching the subject.

"What kind of present would it be if it's not Valentine's?" Holly asked, amused. It was a bit late if it was a 'sorry your team sucks' present. She could probably use one of those, too.

"I guess one could say it would be an apology present," Theo started but the words felt wrong in his mouth. He could not remember the last time he apologized for anything. The closest he could think of was when he punched a hole in his brother's wall, and he just turned around and said it was better than his face. "Of sorts, being as I have no reason to apologize because I didn't do anything wrong." he clarified focused on his dinner as if this wasn't at all an important conversation. "But I upset you with the raffle thing, none-the-less and felt I should make it up to you with a gift and potential solution to prevent any future misunderstandings."

He put his fork down and pushed his slightly away, done with eating for the moment. He reached into his pocket, pausing for a moment. It wasn't too late, he could very well just give her the nice set of earrings he had with him and say next time she was up for auction he would let what ever plebeian that managed to scrounge up enough money to buy her, to do just that. Except the thought of that was beyond unacceptable. Holly Troy deserved nothing short of the best. When he took his gaze off his plate and turned it to her, he pushed aside any thoughts about how completely insane this was, realizing it wasn't. At all. This made sense. They fit together.

"Being as the only logical reason I can come up with for why you were so upset, was the one you gave me, its the only one I can fix." He said pulling his hand out of his pocket and taking a hold of hers, turning it so he could place something in the palm of her hand. "So, marry me, Holly. Then I can buy all the raffles I want for you and it won't be adorable or sweet or cutesy. It will just be right, because I would be your husband and it is what is expected."

He had just put an engagement ring in her hand. Theo had just proposed. He wanted to marry her and be her husband. Holly's mouth moved like a fish out of water's. This was the absolute last thing she had been expecting for him to say to her, the last thing she had been thinking he would pull out of his pocket, and the last thing she thought Theo would have wanted in his lifetime. His first marriage had been arranged and ended in tragedy. How could he want to go through something like that again?

He wanted to do it again with her? Holly felt her chest clench in an unusual feeling of excitement and anxiety. She had never thought about getting married, her mother always harassed her about it but she'd always worked better by herself, was this---was this a good thing? It felt like a good thing, it wasn't sending her running, if that mattered.

Her fingers moved nimbly and slipped the ring on her finger, putting her hand out to stare at it, admire the most important piece of jewelry she'd ever wear.

"Good job," she let out, not realizing that her eyes had gone watery, that her voice was going to crack. Holly smiled tightly at Theo, trying to remain calm, but it was proving very, very difficult.

Theo was about to go back to picking at his food, obviously she found marrying him agreeable., Her quietness didn't really bother him, what more was there to talk about but noticing her teary eyes stopped him.

He move around to the other side of the counter to stand in front of her, taking her left hand into his. He smiled as he looked at the ring on her finger. "It suits you well." Theo said looking from the ring to her face. He considered for a moment teasing her about her reaction, but that would ruin the moment, and he supposed just this once they could have a romantic moment.

He brushed his fingers over her cheek as he leaned in and gave her a gentle kiss. "So I'm going to assume you want a huge summer wedding, with all the cliches and what not."
