About: |
The rules for the community can be found here. Read them and remember them. They aren't very strange or harsh, in my view, but I don't believe in giving warnings, when people disregard the rules, so be sure to look at those rules. This is both a photography and a writing community, for the posting of stories taking place at night in a contemporary urban setting, and of photos taken after dusk and before dawn in such a setting, when the sky, but for artificial lighting, would be completely black. Any magical realism should be done with a light touch, and not verge into science fiction. Fiction, narrative poetry, and nonfictional journal entries are all welcome. The Red Eye is associated with a companion group on DeviantArt of the same name. You can follow both the discussions and the photo pool for this group by e-mail, through Feedburner, or both by following Nightfall on Twitter, which serves as a collective update notification service for this group and those connected to it.

This is not an adult group, so don't add any artistic nudes to the pool, but it does come with a 18+ companion community on which more mature, "R rated" material may be submitted. If you're in my hometown and would like to talk about real experiences you've had after hours, would like to form a group to do some late night photography or otherwise get out, please join "Sleepless in Chicago" and be sure to post. Bickering, if it does occur, is to be taken to another community, created for that sort of nonsense. If you're wondering who I am, my profile can be found here. If you were wondering what was going through my mind when I made a moderation decision, this journal should answer some of your questions. The group homepage, copies of which can be found on Freewebspace.com and Webring Webspace, might answer some of the rest. You can return to your ring via Webring Webspace, Freewebspace.com, or see if you can find the code for your ring below. Unless you came to my pages through some other site or rings have been getting merged, again, you should see it down there.
